The bottom of the Scan-pan has a thick, reinforced layer to make it perfect to go from the oven to the stovetop for finishing off your roasting endeavor with your gravies, reductions, etc. Expensive but nice. The medium glass lid is sold extra unfortunately, but it's available on Amazon, too. Four stars only because of the price. A very nice pan.

I bought my first 3.25 qt Scanpan roasting pan on Oct 29, 2015 and have been using it at least weekly since then. After several years (3 to 4?) the nonstick finish developed a small blister which grew in size. More blisters began to pop up and break open (see photos). I decided to replace the pan because it looked like the base metal (aluminum) was reacting with the braising liquid. I looked at many stainless steel roasters seeking a more durable finish. They were either too large or got too many negative reviews. I finally decided that the 3.25 qt Scanpan roaster would just have to be replaced by another. I was not happy to see the failure of the first one, but I know nothing can last forever. After reading a few reviews I concluded that a warranty claim would probably not be worth my time and effort. Scanpan has been criticized for being non-responsive to warranty claims. In spite of the blistering problem, the pan is great in every other way: no warping, no sticking, no scratches, very even heating on medium gas burner, and easy cleanup. I bought the new one on May 21, 2020. It looks like the non-stick finish may be improved compared to the first one (see side-by-side photo).

This is a really high quality roaster. Solid, heavy, completely non-stick and with a stainless steel solid base that is as happy on the hob as in the oven. Expensive yes, but you really do get what you pay for.

The best nonstick pan on the market today, in my opinion. Heavy gauge metal covered with good coat of nonstick material. Scanpan makes a small 18/10 stainless steel roasting rack (18/10 SS will never rust) to fit this small roasting pan, but you have to search on the internet for it as I did. When I purchased, Amazon only had the medium roasting rack listed to use with the medium nonstick pan. The pan washes up easily in warm soapy water with a regular sponge. I would not put this pan in the dishwasher. This small roasting pan can fit a 8 pound roasting chicken, a turkey breast, roast pork or 1/2 a bone in ham. I also bought a Scanpan nonstick fry pan and that is like brand new of over 1 year of regular use.

Excellent pan, will last years and years. You feel the quality as soon as you use it. Very easy to wash, and everything cooks beautifully in it. Also great for gravy on top of the stove. But I wouldn't use metal spoons or other metal implement in it. Stick to wood and silicone. High price but what's the point of buying cheaper pans where things stick and which don't cook as well, then you end up tossing them. I highly recommend this pan, and will buy a smaller one soon.

I can't believe how nice this pan is (well, I guess you pay for what you get). It's a about the size of a standard muffin tin, so it fits into smaller ovens, it's super non-stick, and has a thick aluminum base. It's suitable for stovetop as well as oven use. I got it because it fits in my fancy June toaster oven, but I've even used it on the barbecue grill (for perfect roasted carrots). It seems like it's built to last, and it cleans up incredibly easily. It's worth noting that it is very heavy, especially for its size.

I've had this pan over 8 years & it still looks brand new inside. I use it a lot. Although the company does say you can use metal utensils, I use only nylon & wooden utensils in it. I like the ceramic-titanium nonstick finish which is safe & works great. No matter what you cook, clean up is simple, everything just washes off in hot, soapy water. I never put my pots, pans, or knives in the dishwasher, but you're supposed to be able to do so. I have a smaller sized oven & this medium size pan fits perfect in it. It's large enough to hold a good portion of lasagna, or a medium size roast with vegetables. I make homemade french fries in it & they come out nice & crispy. The only thing I don't like is the weight, this pan is heavy when it's empty but with a chicken or roast in it I have to get my husband to remove it from the oven so I won't drop it. But on the positive side it will never warp like a cheaper, lighter pan would. It's a high quality product & I recommend it. I'll definitely buy more ScanPan products.

It is great for baking corn bread and muffin breads, it bakes a good crust. Nothing sticks and it washes so easily. I have done hot dishes in it too. This pan is heavy and sturdy. Scanpans are great for searing and browning meats. You can also use this pan on the stovetop, the bottom has a thick base for this purpose. Liked it so much I purchased another same size and another the smaller size. It also come in a larger size. I can fit two of this size in my oven at the same time. Scanpans are really exceptional nonstick pans. My sister has had one for nine years and it is still her favorite pan. She even melts sugar in hers without any problems. If you did this in a regular nonstick it would ruin it. Never use a spray oil on them as per the instructions. This pan does not work on induction top.

Got this just in time for Thanksgiving, along with the wire rack, and it worked perfectly. We did the turkey upside down to start, then finished right-side-up, with an organic bird; everyone at dinner agreed it was the best the turkey has ever come, moist inside and well-browned outside. We made the gravy right in the pan, no problem getting up the browned bits; and clean-up was easy, following the manufacturer recommendations. I have had many cheaper roasters and have always found them falling short in one area or another, so I thought I'd take a chance even though it was pricey, and this looked better to me than the all-clad. It's not made in the USA, but at least it's made in Europe - I try not to cook food in anything made in China, just because of their poor safety track record. We'll have to see how it holds up over time, but for the initial use it seems to be a great roaster!
