It is a good battery needed for FT-70D, however, this battery in general does not hold a charge very well when stored long time. Suggest charger for home or office, and portable charging source for extended field use.

I bought this to have a second battery for my FT-70D. The battery fits just fine and even has the proper gasket on it, but sadly the radio simply refuses to charge it and shows the CHGERR message. The battery will charge via the terminals on the rear of the battery, so it is not in protection mode. So, now I have to deal with returning a lithium battery, which is a huge hassle.Gave back two stars after the replacement battery seems to function correctly. I still had to pay for a box and UN sticker to ship back the defective unit, which is absurd, but at least I have a functioning second battery even though I'm out almost 6 bucks for the return.
