Got this for my as he is beginning his journey into making things out of wood. They hold up to his adolescent abuse. Would recommend.

For woodworking projects, these seem best used to temporarily hold things in place until a stronger clamp can be applied. I'm glad to have them as I often am short of clamps and they are versatile in terms of clamping angles. They are a good value for the price and light duty projects.

I have a woodworker in my family, and when I received these, I wanted to know what he thought of them. Basically, he said there are beefier clamps out there, but that "you can never have too many clamps in your toolbox." I think it comes down to the right clamp for the right job.The bar clamps have rubbery, removable pads that contact your project. The pads are 1" x 1 3/8" and are 1" away from the steel bar. The plastic surfaces underneath them are 3/4" x 1 3/16" and are about 1 1/8" away from the steel bar. It's easy to convert these from clampers to spreaders. The handles may be a little small for large hands. I think these clamps are good and easy to use overall. The angle clamps are something new to me. These can handle a combined thickness between about 3/8" and 1 1/8". Note that I said "combined" because you need to take in account the thickness of both pieces you're working with, but the thinner piece can't be narrower than 1/16". The right-angle triangular piece can slide back and forth to accommodate 2 different thicknesses of wood. In fact, this triangle can be removed entirely and replaced with differently angled triangles that you can buy separately. While that sounds practical, I don't foresee myself needing that kind of versatility yet.

I build a lot of storage bin carts and raised beds so I constantly need clamps to hold glue before I screw or nail together parts. These work perfectly and are a great price for as many that come in the box.

You can never have too many clamps. Well, that may not be completely true. I'm always looking for more clamping solutions for may wood shop and I liked the look of the corner clamps as well as getting more squeeze clamps. The bar clamps work somewhat well, but they do not stay in line when clamping. They do seem to get a decent amount of pressure, but the pads are almost impossible to align when using one hand. I've had clamps of similar quality before and they tend not to last too long. However, the corner clamps are just about useless. I tried using them on 3/4" boards and they just fit. It worked OK on ones that were rabbeted and kinda held on the butt joint, but the mitered joint just slid around and was impossible to line up. 1/2" boards were easier to get in the clamps, but the butt and miter joints would both slide a lot. the springs seemed pretty strong, but the plastic parts were just not tight enough to work well.
