After struggling to decide which gasket to purchase, I realized this material is similar to my solar heater material and can be glued with "crazy" glue if needed. Also noticed most of the yuck in my RV vent was from contact the sloppy cement application done by the last installer. The embedded adhesive strip was easy to use. Note: apply the sticky side to the RV vent outside lip first and then force the inside edgeover. The glue side won't slide down. only exponse a little at a time or the channel's sides will stick together. Note that there IS an inside and outside orientation. The other reason I bought this is because it comes long enough to acutally fit a vent. Some for sale are too short. This 196" was enough to do my three H'eng vents with some left over, even after making a few mistakes (like forgetting to clean the frame near the hindge side of the vent cover.) I can recommend this over vinyl and other materials. It was worth the few extra bucks.

Hail damaged our camper's roof vent cover and while I was assessing the damage I discovered the vinyl seal had hardened and begun to disintegrate.I ordered this replacement seal to see if I could extend the life of the hatch. This new seal is soft and flexible and pure white. There is enough to go around the edge of the hatch with about a foot to spare. Comparing a cross-section of the seal shows them the same. The old seal came loose with some tugging. The new seal has an adhesive strip on the inside of the 'legs'. That adhesive strip did not seem to adhere well except in a few places, so I added some contact adhesive as an aid.The original seal is 6 years old. I'm expecting this one to last that long as well.

replaced all 3 of my vent's seals and it seems to work pretty good. the adhesive is VERY sticky, it likes to stick to itself lol. my advice is to clean off the lip, peel off a little bit of the red protector, start slipping it on and peel the adhesive protector off as you go around.

Upon removing the old and worn out gasket, I cleaned off the metal surface of the vent frame as this has an adhesive bond as well. Prior to installing completely, I wrapped it around the vent frame and marked where I wanted it to cut. We all know keeping those vents sealed tight helps with unnecessary humidity in the summer while running the AC and creating a waterfall on your ceiling. I cut it just a tad long (1/8 inch) and slowly pelled off the adhesive backing and applied the sealant. When I reached the ends it was pliable enough to really squeeze it together and seal it up tight. I then closed the vent for 24 hours to bake on the sun. The fitment of it is spot on as far as depth is concerned, and it provided a nice tight seal. Quality of the material seems that it is in par with OEM materials, and time will tell. For the price you can't go wrong.

I just got it. It feels really nice and soft like pure silicone. Nice and soft and stable. I pulled back the red plastic backing and the double sided tape really feels extra sticky. I have not used it yet but I'm sure it will be top notch. I might add extra gorilla glue in the corners of the RV vent, but probably wouldn't need it. I would buy it again. Putting the coil back into the zip lock bag was awesome. It didn't really want to go back in because it was so grippy like nice silicone. This stuff feels awesome! Hope it sticks good to my trailer.

A bit hard to work with sticks to itself then loses stickiness
