My dog is absolutely terrified of thunderstorms, and this has made such a remarkable difference in calming him down before and after the storm. He is a 90 pound Boxer mixed with a Corso, so I definitely recommend measuring your dog beforehand so you don’t end up with your dog looking similar to how mine looks.He might look uncomfortable, but I promise it was due to the thunder and lightning outside.

This "vest" to me, is equivalent to a people vest. It covers "some" but not all of you! I've used this with both purposes as a vest for warmth when it's chilly but not cold and as a calming tool. I have an 11 month old Rott. She's primarily grown up outside but she is coming in the house to be my main watchdog. (Her aunt who was my perfect "girl" and watchdog, passed at not even 2y/o without even the vet knowing which/what illness without an autopsy). Anyway, "Princess Diana" is making it into the house but is a complete and total nut job with her new surroundings. I use the vest whenever she comes in so that I don't go insane! She does calm down quicker with it on, especially with the hood up over her ears. After about an hour or so, she is able to calm herself and we take it off. It's already warm enough in the house for her.Now the quality of the garment. That is exceptional. If people clothes could consistently be made that way, we'd never have a problem! I was particularly impressed with the seams. The stitching is tight and short thus the edging is on and feels like it's on securely. The fabric, well fleece, is tightly woven as well. Not like some of the fleece that is loose and you just know it's going to rip when they scratch or get it caught on sticks, blackberries, or anything poking out. I'm just so incredibly impressed with the quality.The concept itself does work for my pup, she is a special basket case though, and I bet with fireworks or occasional anxiety issues, it would be fantastic.I happily give this 5 stars and would recommend this particular product and manufacturer.

This is a soft and adorable little dog coat, but I'm not sure it's great for pitties or staffies. I could barely get the neck bit over my dog's head but the rest of it was much too large for her. This is the bully breed struggle, unfortunately.

There hasn't been a thunderstorm or fireworks since I got this, so haven't been able to put it to a full test. My one dog, a border collie, Australian cattle dog mix, hides in the bathtub during storms. Or she will dart from room to room trying to find a place to hide. I end up putting some blankets in the tub with her to cut the chill and turn off the light.This is based on sound principles of calming nervous dogs. I like how the piece that goes around the chest/back is very wide, so it spreads and gives even pressure instead of just one or two strips. The whole garment compresses my dogs fluff so she looks pretty funny with it on. You can pull the hoodie part up or have it slouched down.The velcro is durable, sturdy, and sewn in a way that won't catch your dogs fur.The material itself is nice and soft and the colour is very pretty.Overall, I think this is a good alternative to the name brand shirt, and certainly a more attractive one. I will try to update after we have a storm or similar event to test it fully.

We recently realized that our dog becomes a completely different animal when she's wearing clothes. She's calmer, doesn't bark at common noises, etc.We decided to try out a proper anxiety vest, and this one does a decent job, but not necessarily better than the funny christmas pajamas that we got for her.For me personally, I had trouble figuring out how to put it on the dog, and I don't remember seeing instructions, which is why I'm subtracting a star.

My dog should have fit going by the measurements, but it is a tad too small. It is very well made and the fabric is nice and soft. I love the green color. It would have looked nice against my dogs red hair. I will be giving this to a family member whose dog should fit this. I might reorder in the hopes that sixing up will help. I do think this would work wonderfully for a dog who is anxious or for them to stay warm.

This fits our dog well and is soft. It seemed to calm her down when we tried it on her. The true test will be with fireworks. The color is nice as well and has very strong Velcro to keep it in place.
