Awesome, thick/sturdy, nice looking around the trees. Water flows through. Best thing, no more weed eating; lawnmower goes over with no issues. Bought one pack, then re-ordered a 2nd pack. Little pricey but worth it. Made from rubber so should have a long usage span.

Packaging was convenient. Rings are easy to install on trees with appropriate trunk diameter. Can be adapted to larger trunks by cutting a bigger hole in the middle. Tough material to cut however. Seems rugged and likely to last several seasons. I would and probably will buy more.

I initially bought two for my fruit trees instead of buying them from a big box store as they are an hour away. Prices are comparable. A big plus saved on car gas! These really do work, bought four more!

So first - these are nice and sturdy. I have had some in place for about 4 years and no issue. Perfect to help fend back the grass. BUT a problem - They DO NOT let water through well. I was wondering why my bushes seemed to be struggling. I went to clean up around them and add some fertilizer only to find they were bone dry around them. We just had a heavy shower and ground around all wet while under the mat totally dry. Here in Houston, that is not good. I have removed them all from around my bushes and trees. That said - if your tree were big enough to have wider rood spread or if you want something around a light post or mailbox this will totally work. Just not great for plants. Maybe if purposely poked some small drain holes?

This product is very easy to use and does exactly what is claimed. The mulch ring is also a great value . Placed thes around the bird feeders, wher the birds tend to scratch around in the mulch and make a big mess. This mulch ring hold the landscape fabric in place, looks natural and blends with the bark mulch

Great to keep the tree safe and weed free. I used weed barrier under the ring for added protection. I used the tree rink itself to trace and cut the weed barrier to size. I also put Dimex EasyFlex Plastic Tree Trunk Protectors, 6 Count, Grey around the trunk for added protection and just in case there was a little bit of weeds that got through so I could quickly weed eat without damaging the trunk. The ring is well made, sturdy, has a tight gap and the slit, and lays well. The "mulch" look is realistic. I have used 5 so far and it makes it so much easier to mow around with the zero turn and saves a ton of time not having to walk the property weed eating. Maintenance free essentially.

I bought five of them at once. So far, I have deployed only two, as I have been too busy to remove the prior mulch and retaining ring. In just a week since placing those two, no weeds or grass have grown through, but it's awfully early to see results. They arrived quickly, in good condition, well packed. I expect good results.Update: Months after positioning the five rings I first bought, no weeds had grown through any of them, although grass and weeds galore had grown through the loose mulch I had applied to a depth of at least 4 inches around other trees, so I ordered four more, for additional trees I ordered. I am very pleased with the appearance and effectiveness of these mulch rings. I am not sure yet how effective they will be in protecting my trees through winter here in NH. If they are as effective as loose mulch, I will buy these rings to replace that loose mulch around the rest of my trees.I use barrier rings around my trees, to focus and hold the watering and to bar at least shallow roots from approaching the trees. I have to trim about 1.5 inch off the outer edge of these rings to fit inside those, but it is just a few minutes tough effort for each, with a good pair of Fiskars shears.

The design is a bit wonky. One side so obviously isn't mulch and the other side has what appears to have an oops in manufacturing. That being said, I love the darn things. They work perfectly.Much prefer this brand to the Mintcraft brand. As for the concept itself. GREAT idea. No it does not look like mulch when near it but from a distance it does, and even without it looking mulched it still looks quite nice.
