Straight from a parody movie about the 70s, this thing is comically large. No, no, it's absurdly large. One of my frequent complaints about other handheld mics and speaker / mics is that they're too small with many bordering on "dainty". This is the polar opposite. My hands are probably average for a male, (All my gloves are sized as "L", not "XL") but it takes every bit of flexibility in my fingers to get a good grip on this thing. It's that big.The unit does seem to be fairly sturdy and has a good weight to it. (courtesy of a metal insert) I was surprised to find that the microphone inside at least appeared to be a small (~1.5") low profile plastic-coned speaker of the sort you might expect to find in a children's toy. Maybe that's normal. Maybe it is in fact a purpose-designed microphone element that happens to look like a speaker. I'm not really sure, but it stood out enough to me that I thought it was worth mentioning. Unfortunately, I can't offer any comments on audio quality since I quickly decided the size was too much and lopped the cord and connector off for other use. (Cord and connector seem to be of at least "Good+" quality, especially in consideration of the item price.)
