We ordered this kayak excited to use it to float on the Chena river and local sloughs here in Fairbanks. Amazon shipped the kayak up to us, no issue. The kayak arrived with a faulty zipper for one of the seat covers. I reached out to Retrospec about a replacement cover and was told that they do not ship to Alaska and that I should exchange my kayak through Amazon. Exchanging the entire kayak over the seat cover, which would easily fit in a small flat rate USPS box, is ludicrous. Alaska buyers should choose another brand of outdoor equipment.

So far it looks nice and we have yet to test it out but I am disappointed in the design. The reason we got a inflatable kayak is for portability purposes and the bag that came with this is terrible. It doesn’t fit anything beyond the kayak but there are a lot of other components that now have to be stored else where, and the opening is on the side where things just fall out.I have a retrospec paddle board which I loved so I had high expectations but seems like they put less thought into this one. A bit disappointed for the high price.

AMAZING!!! We had no way to transport kayaks, so this is perfect for us. We bought the 2 seater so that we could use it together also. We have one seater kayaks, and prefer this one. It is nice that you can adjust the seats to be for one or 2. We dont always go together, so we appreciate this function. So many reviews complained about lack of directions, but is is really self evident and easy. Glides nicely and feels very sturdy on the water. Beautful blue color - we love it and bought another so that we have 2 when we want to use as a one person kayak together. There are many places we go that we need inflatable kayaks to travel easily.

The directions are super unclear. I am new to kayaking and these are not helpful. Wrote to the seller and got no response. Impossible to inflate by yourself. Not as fast as my brothers kayak. Almost impossible to get the fin installed and no directions about which way it goes, where the seat goes, how the paddle should be assembled, what a skag is and where it goes (just says to attach it with no pic).

We have been on about 14 floats so far. We absolutely loved these kayaks. Haven't even came close to flipping. Plenty of room for us, kids, and all our gear. We pack chairs, coolers, and kids toys. Love the bungee cords on both ends. Plus the fact you can slide stuff under each end. The chairs are so nice to be able to relax back on. Extra like the fact they are removable and adjustable. Two paddles have been great with helping teach our kids to paddle. All around just a great purchase for us!!!

First time I set it up the pressure gauge on the pump didn't work. Very prompt and helpful but just went to the lake this morning and the replacement pressure gauge doesn't work. A long drive and didn't want to damage it and now don't even know if I can get a new gauge or how long I will have to wait. Only used it 3 times.

Have taken this boat out a half a dozen times since we bought it. Very impressed! Quick to inflate, strong construction, very stable on the water ( my wife and I tried to rock it to capsize and couldn’t). We ran it aground hard on a little river a few times and only a few small scratches on the bottom of the hull. Looking at doing a week long trip with it next summer. The one and only con to it is it does take a long time to completely dry.

I would like to give this product more stars because I think it has potential. But with that said, the biggest problem has been being able to replace the skeg(fin) that snapped off at the base. I am faced with the dilemma of replacing the entire skeg and base which would involve having to remove the old skeg base that is heat fused to the floor of the kayak. I have now visited retrospec's customer service where a great CS Rep tried their best and warehouse was supposed to ship me a replacement skeg but that was over two weeks ago so I don't think that has happened. Fall and Winter are coming and my kayaking season is over unfortunately but now I am stuck with an EXPENSIVE product without a replacement skeg. I was told "Other customers have used this skeg without a problem" Well that is great for them but I cannot kayak and I cannot replace my skeg without remounting the base which means I would void my warranty. Again, that is a lot of money for me to throw away on a product that will have no warranty once I replace the skeg base. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT because they do NOT SELL REPLACEMENT SKEGS

I went to take my new kayak for a ride today and as I was pumping the first air chamber, it completely ripped at only 0.75 PSI when the redommended pressure is 1.5Extremely disappointing considering the price….

Inflates fast. Very fast!Texture feels heavy duty but the kayak is not heavy. In a calm lake we sometimes fit our kids 7 and a 10yo on, along with us 2 grown ups. It's super stable and keeps a good line in the river.Hard to dry it out entirely, it needs to be left out unfolded.

I decided to buy the 1-seater Coaster after I couldn't fit in another inflatable (an intex challanger K1, I'm 6'2" and my legs would fall asleep in it)- this is a very nice kayak! It feels stable, light-weight and comfortable to sit in, it can also hold more weight than my old kayak, which is a big plus! A great buy all around!
