Renogy makes and/or resells great products. This inverter is no different.Sometimes size -does- matter, and when it comes to real pure sine inverters, this is absolutely true. To make a pure sine inverter, you need physically large inductors (fancy coils of wires) as well as good filtering capacitors. As a result, the Renogy pure sine inverter series tends to be a little larger than other similarly specified inverters. Take this as a good sign, and a warning when comparing to other models! If you plan to use the "hardwire" connection (which is internally GFCI protected), you will NOT be able to connect the green (ground) conductor at the inverter because your trailer already likely has a GFCI breaker or outlet which will cause the inverter to panic. Restated: you cannot have any GFCI down-stream of the inverter if you want to connect the ground wire. This model (the one with the "dumb" rocker switch can be easily interfaced with because the remote on/off is a simple switch. The RJ12 (6p6c) connector uses the red and green wires (pins 3&4) to control the inverter. This allows you to intelligently interface with MPPT solar controllers, or battery BMS systems as a remote disconnect/shutdown.

I sure hope there's an inverter in the box, and not a toilet valve!

Great product and design. Powers my fithwheel directly connected thanks to the quality full power connection. To bad it didn't have a Bluetooth connection, just hardwire only. Other than that works Great !

I previously purchased the 2000W unit and was happy enough that when I needed another I purchased this 3000W inverter. It was easy enough to install and was working fine, until one day I came home and my solar system was dead, the main 200A battery fuse was blown. I traced the issue to a short on the input terminals of the 3000W unit ( I had a 200A circuit breaker feeding it but the battery fuse went first). The only load I had on the inverter was a full sized fridge and small chest freezer, I can't understand why this would cause a failure (way way waaaaay below the 3000W limit). Even if the output is overloaded the unit should be able to protect itself, not just self destruct!I tried using a pre-charge resistor but the voltage on the terminals would not rise. I think this unit was destined to fail from the start.Just glad it died within the return window and I was able to get a full refund.

We Use a short run, 5’ of 4/0 welding cable to a Bank of 12 led acid in series to parallel to make 12 V and couldn’t be happier With the performance of this unit.We have put it through its paces with a hot tub, Freezer, fridge, lights, tv, DVD, antenna booster, and various other minor electronic to charge. We are on a solar kick that started last February and truly so happy I purchased this unit to convert and supply 120 AC power as the price and reliability so far can’t be beat.We run midnight solar controllers , 4 GE bifacial pv modules, and Renogy 3000 watt inverter, as well as a Renogy 3000watt 75 amp inverter charger that I TOTALY love as well.Update July 8 2023 still impressing us and so happy we decided to go with thus unit the price and quality are unmatched and truly impressed with how it has performed so much so that I will continue to up date this review .Btw We have not shut this unit down since installed and it has been under constant load.2024 May 22 update.Still running strong! Some of my friends, who paid much more money for their “higher end” inverters, are starting to change their minds that I wasted my money with this 3000 watt inverter.Unit Has not damaged any of my equipment, Apple computer, etc., and has done everything that I’ve needed to do and is in use 24/7 since I installed it.I purchased a second unit, which I still have New in a box, just in case of failure and I also am still using the 3000watt inverter / charger to top off Battries , only about 8 times this winter, to top off Battries . I’m seriously impressed by the Ability of the 3000 watt inverter to still function as advertised with all the loads That I throw at it, and I will keep updating. :)

Must have been one of the lucky ones that purchased the 3000w inverter and had absolutely no issues. Wired into a camper van directly to the 170ah lithium battery also made by renogy. I have been using it for over a year now with no issues. My largest draw is the keurig @1800w and has no issues.Something to note.. If it is cold, the inverter would shut down when trying to use my keurig, but this was because lithium output just isn't all that great in the cold and will not deliver the power like it would in 50+ degree weather. Just a little something to throw out there. It has been good to me and glad I got it.

The inverter is large and takes up quite a bit of real estate storage. Upon installation functions correctly out of the box unlike two others I have tried (the green one) first one which caught fire upon power up, 2nd one upon a load of 100W. I have had this inverter on for approximately 48 hours and has performed great. So far only a very minor load under 200W a fan, Simplisafe alarm system, cellphone and laptop chargers. I Installed this inverter along with Renogy (4) 100ah 12 v batteries and EPEVER 40A MMPT, (2) 250 W Solar Panels and TS-30 transfer switch for my 33' RV.This REnogy inverter unit is subject to 46 deg C during the day in the RV compartment so far heat has not been a issue. The only issue as been the remote I wanted to use with it (LCD) does not work with this unit RJ45 connection was needed and this does not have that, only a RJ11 standard phone type. The supplied remote does show if there are any faults, red led and normal operation green led, and on / off switch. So glamor but it does the job.

Inverter is easy to install. I added a 30 amp fuse on the + between the unit and the battery for added protection. I have the inverter connected to a 120v junction box with breakers. The unit in the photo is a different manufacturer as the Renogy 3000W unit tripped out every time I plugged it into the 120v box with NO load - breakers off. Amazon Customer service was superb as they rushed me a replacement Renogy 3000 at no cost as the first unit never worked. Unfortunately, the second unit did not work as well. The Renogy unit can be wired directly to the 120v box. I tried that and it did not work. I tested the 120v box with a 2000w generator and ran a refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker at the same time with no problem. Strangely, these appliances RAN using the Renogy 3000 when plugged in DIRECTLY to the unit - bypassing the 120v breaker box. The Renogy just would not work when plugging it into the breaker box. I returned both units To Amazon and bought another unit from a different manufacturer and it works just fine with my simple wiring configuration. So, it was not the dumb installer (me), but a bad product. I own a Renogy 800w solar system that charges the batteries (photo attached). This is a quality system with a really good controller and functions extremely well. However, this 3000w inverter is another story. Finally, the customer service at Renogy is extremely poor. My solar system arrived with NO instructions! They do this on purpose saying it is a “green” practice. I found a wiring diagram that was a big help on the Amazon website. Since you cannot call Renogy, I emailed them about my inverter issue and received a computer generated response with a reference number stating that a customer service rep will get back to me within 24-48 hours. It’s been almost a month with no response. In sum, buy a Renogy solar panel system but skip the inverter. And don’t expect any help from Renogy customer service.

Very nice piece of equipment. Works well out of the box. Using it in a remote location, mountain cabin in Sierra Nevada. Wanted the Pure Sine Wave 110 power so there would be no issues with any electronic equipment we power. Like the option to directly wire it into the system if you want to pull more than 9 amps which I did at my cabin. Running two 315 Watt solar panels and two large 12VDC Group 31 Solar batteries. I will add at least two more 12VDC batteries to my grid. Using a Renology controller which is also nice. Inverter is excellent. Glad I bought it.
