It looks classic/vintage but with a modern feel which I personally love. The texture is not like a coated head and after some using a scourer you can remove the Remo decal on it. Get your drum company decal printed and cut a vent if you you good to go. The PS3 has the control ring so its more dampened. Sound very warm and punchy on my 22x20 truth kick.

The Reso side of the drum doesn't do as much as the batter side...but I love the natural skin look of the head. I added a Gretsch sticker...and I love it! Throw on a PS3 or an EMAD...and you have the perfect combo. The PS3 gives a deeper thud in my humble lil' ol' opinion.

Bought this as a resonant head for my bass drum. It looks incredible. Started off on an older grey oyster finish kit that it dressed up a lot. I recently switched it over to my new tobacco satin DW bass drum, and it looks so much better than the stock black head. If you're looking for a sick reso on your kick, you can't beat this one.
