I use a Vintage A on my 5.5"x14" Gretsch snare over an Ambassador clear. It has just the right blend of stick feel, pop, fullness and overtone control if you're playing funk/fusion/jazz/rock. Regular Ambassador would be my next favorite, but sounds a bit wimpy and ringy compared to the Vintage A. I've also tried Remo Emperor, Evans G2/ST DRY/Genera DRY HD and Aquarian Studio X and like them all less than the Vintage A.

基本的にはコーテッドアンバサダーですが微妙に音程ニュアンスが違うようですね。ピアノからフォルテの表現の中ではコーテッドアンバサダーより幾分幅広い感じがしました。アタック感を必要とされる方には今チョイかもしれませんが個人的には最高のヘッドでした。

ドラム初心者の印象ですが、coated ambassoderに比較して中音が強く出るので音程感がよりハッキリ出る印象です。倍音は少し抑えられる感じかな。

I crank this head down on several of my snare drums and it never fails to meet expectations. My only criticism is that the head does not last as long as I would like, but it sounds great!

no matter how you tune your drums low or high these heads make your drum kit sing ...I recommend putting regular coated ambassadors for the resonant side ....your get at nice warm woody tubby sound when you tune low and a great warm bebop sound for high tunning...like your using calf heads!! and there great for recording too!!

I fell in love with these heads shortly after it was reissued by Remo. The tone is lower than the normal Ambassador. I'm using this on my vintage Ludwig Supraphonic and it sounds excellent. I has that lower wood tone and the attack of steel. Would recommend for any snare drum!

I use this 14 inch remo coated white ambasador vintage drum head on top of my standard depth 1980 ludwig supersensitive snare. Keep it tuned tight, top and bottom, snares tight and no muffling whatsoever! This combo has nice tight crisp snare sound and rockin' crack - What a sound! Makes you want and enjoy playing music - I love it!! ;)
