False description! Not made in USA but China…It barely holds zero. Item seemed used with scratched finish and messy packaging. I think the RCBS caliper is a great stainless steel design but with poor quality control. I fault the seller for selling this item as new and free of defects.

I have a high end set of digital calipers. I've used dial calipers before but I wanted something for a brother-in-law reloading setup that wasn't too expensive. I was pleasantly surprised at how well these worked. After setting up reloading on 2 different calibers (9mm and 223), I ended up converting back to dial calipers myself. I just like them better. Batteries are a non-issue again.So, are they accurate? Yes! These were exactly the same as my digital calipers on every measurement. We checked finished cartridges with these RCBS calipers and every reload we made cycled perfectly. You can't ask for more than that. These calipers are really good.

Works great as far as I can tell. Not cheap. I could have bought a cheaper one though and it probably would works just as good. I bought the name just so it matches 3/4 of my reloading equipment

Wanted a set of verniers that didn't take batteries and these were a good price and being RCBS brand I didn't think they'd be bad. The are very good for the price you pay. Will easily give you +/- .001 tolerances. Come with a very nice fitted plastic case and the verniers themselves are stainless steel so they'll last awhile. The track is covered so filings will be kept out but you can steel blow the track out with canned air to keep them clean. All in all it's ma great product from RCBS.

I really like this product for ease of use and practicality. I bought to measure choke tube ID on my 12 gauge and compare the the Carleson's C. The dial face is clear and has returned to zero every time since the initial setup. The slide track was a little stiff out of the box but I added one drop of Rem oil to the gear track. After one full length travel, I wiped it clean and it is easy to move with the thumb wheel in small increments. I do not intend to use this daily so it will work well for me.

Great tool ! I read dozens of reviews for digital and dial calipers before buying this one. The digital models are easier to read but require batteries that some reviewers report have short life, all eventually requiring replacement. RCBS tools and equipment have always been top-notch in the past, and this dial caliper certainly continues that image. It functions flawlessly and does exactly what I need. Since I don't use it often, and have some experience with barrel micrometers, it became an easy choice for me. Even without experience with this type instrument, you will quickly be making accurate measurements with it. I chose the stainless steel model for longevity.

Recently I had the opportunity to use this caliper and that of a friend of mine. His was of similar quality ... but he immediately noticed that the scale on the bar was much easier to read on my RCBS. Both were equally accurate. I don't know what he paid for his, but his was more difficult to read the values. When you consider the intended use of this item ... that's not a minor issue. I understand the move toward digital readout - but personally prefer to avoid electronics in this case. I prefer mechanical scales as well. Just a personal preference.
