My husband and I have candles lid all over our house everyday and we kept needing to run to the store for matches until my husband bought this where we can simply charge it and always have it on hand and have our candles lid!

This lighter works well. The form factor is great, the ergonomics are good, and the LED is well implemented.The one of two downsides is that it takes slightly longer to light a candle than a plasma lighter with an X pattern. It still gets the job done, but takes a second or two more than the other style of lighter.On the other hand, the rest of the design is good. The form factor is nice, the lighter looks good, and the buttons are simple and effective. Unlike plasma lighters with the contacts on the front, the design of this lighter makes it so that it'd be hard to accidentally grip it backwards in the dark and burn yourself.I particularly like the LED. It's not very bright and that's perfect if you're trying to light a candle in a dark room. You don't want something that is so bright that it blinds you when you're trying to light the wick. This gives you enough light to see what you're doing, but not enough to destroy your night vision.The LED does have a weird quirk though. If the safety switch is on, after a little white the blue power lights will turn themselves off. If the white LED is turned on when the light goes into standby mode, the power button for the LED is disabled. To turn the LED off, you need to either activate the plasma button or cycle the safety switch. This isn't a problem, just a weird quirk.The second negative I had was that the safety switch was in the "on" position when I pulled it out of the box. I pulled it out from the front, so the motion of pulling it out couldn't have flipped the switch. This wasn't an issue with my unit, but it's worth mentioning in the hope that the manufacturer will make sure that future units don't ship in the on position.In conclusion, this is a decently designed lighter that will generally get the job done. It's slower than X pattern lighters and struggles a little on larger wicks, but also has a better overall design than many other plasma lighters in this price range. Having an X pattern instead of only 2 contacts will light things faster, but this certainly works.
