Great kayak. Having a modular (two part) kayak allows me to fit this kayak in my midsized SUV. No roof rack. I can also easily store this kayak. The two parts of the kayak fit together quickly and are water tight. Quite the game changer which will allow a lot more people to buy a kayak. The pedal system works very well and I much prefer pedals over paddles. The rudder is effective and this kayak tracks well and moves quickly. Lots of extras are included. This kayak is a great bargain at the price. The seat is comfortable. The storage bin is easy to use. The quality is impressive.I had tried an inflatable kayak but it leaked the first time I used it. This is a study, well built kayak that is easy to use. Hobie kayaks which I have owned cost much more. Hobie should buy this company. Reel Yaks should get ready for a big demand for this innovative, high quality, pedal kayak at a great price.

Just received and it looks so fun. It even arrived a day sooner than expected. Can't wait to try it out.Encountered some difficulty while assembling the rudder, but as it turns out we has received a bum component. I contacted Reel Yak with a pic of our issue and they responded immediately (literally within in hour) offering to send me the new component. Huge props for great customer service!2 weeks in update: Have had it out a couple times. Transporting it is so easy, fits in the back of my SUV and is so much easier (and more secure) than heaving a full size kayak up into roof top racks. Snapping the 2 halves together is a breeze. This wasn't apparent to me beforehand, but seems obvious now - the 2 halves are themselves fully closed molded pieces, they will float on their own and water doesn't come seeping up into the assembled kayak as I had illogically wondered about beforehand. The paddle fins are super smooth and efficient to operate, they get you moving even against some wind and current.I was worried about a 9.5foot kayak feeling "small" but that wasnt the case at all. It feels very stable and is well accessorized to fit everything needed; I only added a drink holder and an anchor rope tie-off to the rail systems. You simply cannot find a better foot powered kayak anywhere near this price point. This is a really great product and I'm very happy with it!

So I bought this kayak because I have a Toyota Corolla now the unfortunate news is it doesn’t fit completely but it’s good enough for me!It pretty much comes with everything you need right out the box - pedal drive, rod holder, stadium chair, paddleMy paddle was bent but I just worked back into place. Putting it together was very easy - the rudder was a-little difficult but I eventually figured it out.On the water it’s really great - I’m 5’8 and 145lb and had no trouble at all. This is my first kayak so I have nothing to compare it too but I really do like it - and love that it’s two parts and fits in my house. If gives me access to to kayak fish and is made very well - and absolutely worth the price.

First let me say that I'm a novice to kayak fishing but avid bass angler on bass boat. I just needed something that I could throw into the water without the hassle of hauling a boat. This seemed to be what I was looking for. Very compacted to load in truck/ car and store after use. There’s not much review on this product so here we go.I’m 5”8 and 173lbs.The delivery was on time.Everything came in the delivery, didn’t have to call customer service for parts that were missing as some reviewers mentioned. The instructions are pretty simple, however the pic for the rudder is completely different so it took a little time to figure out, just like one of the reviewermentioned. There are resources on the paper instruction that take you to their website with videos to help you with the kayak but still not for the rudder. The kayak seems to be built with good materials. The kayak’s frame is solid.I’ve taken it out 2 times so far.The first time was to see how easy it was to haul, assemble and how I felt on the water. Was only in the water for 30 mins. Both frames weight each about 31 lbs. So it’s not too heavy to carry by myself. Super easy to connect both halves. At first I was skeptical because I wasn’t sure how secure the two halves would be but it looked very sturdy. It did great when I put in the water. No leaks.Had to get acclimated with the pedal drive, how to install into the water and when to take it out.The paddles are awesome. Very sturdy and can easily take apart for storage. The seat was comfortableas well. The only thing I didn’t try was standing on it because it was windy that day and didn’t feel comfortable. Packing back up was a breeze. Easy to wash after use and storage was a cake. So far it has meet my expectations, worth the cost!!! Super excited to fish on it.Update: sever days after because of work and very windy days.So I finally took it fishing. Maybe about 1 hour on a lake by my home. The pedal drive is a game changer, love it.Like I said I’m new to kayak fishing so I’m learning the nuance of it.Today it was windy about 10-15 mile winds and the kayak did great with the pedal drive.I still didn’t feel confident to stand up.It’s only 9”5 feet so you loose Stability because of the length. However, it was windy and the kayak felt stable on it even with boat wakes. The one thing I noticed that you don’t have any where to put the paddles. The kayak is too small to pace them inside the kayak. You have to break them apart and place them in front of the seat next to the pedal drive. There is a fishing rod holder but I can’t figure it out. I must be doing something wrong. The dry compartment is a good size, can place iPhones, keys and maybe a few smaller things you don’t want to get wet.I felt comfortable on the seat but like I said I only was only fishing for an hour. The great thing about fishing kayaks, you can modify them and I will just tweak for practicality….like for the paddles. It’s still to early to give 5 stars but I’ll give it 4.5 stars. My concern is the longevity of the kayak and parts. No regrets so far.I will update when I finally stand on it.
