I was ready to give up on my laptop, but was encouraged by a friend to try replacing the failed fan. With the help of YouTube videos, it was not too hard to do, and now my laptop is good as new! Great price for a restoration!

The fan is put in with a couple of screws and it's a plug and play. No more noisy fan.

This item was incorrect; not the same as its listing. Therefore, it could not fit into my laptop's fan compartment at all.

My wife's computer started overheating and finally told her that the fan was not running. She took it to Best Buy and they told her that the fan cannot be replaced so we got her a new computer. I was looking at now unused computer and thought that before I throw it away, I should check on the fan. it happens that the fan is easy to replace and cheap to buy on Amazon (a static electricity grounding wrist band is recommended.) Her "broken" computer is now my "new" computer. Not a bad investment.

It would worked. Replaced this fan and the old heat sync paste with ARCTIC MX-4 Thermal Compound Paste, and now I am not getting overheating messages from my laptop anymore. There were cheaper fans you could buy but I wanted one that would not fail me. Two weeks in and this one is still going strong. Will update if that changes.
