For hitting a bag, these gloves are a huge no.For actual fighting (mma) they protect pretty good.My only complaint is the Velcro has already lost its adhesiveness so I have to redo them. The size chart is accurate.

Nice gloves for my punching bag. They have saved my knuckles. I like the little extra padding on the thumb to pad the sweat off my brow while I’m working out. Overall two thumbs up, especially for the price!

I'm a female with average sized hands and ordered the medium. They fit perfectly! The silicone rod in the palm feels sufficient enough for using on a heavy bag as I intend to use it.
