It’s convenient but not very sturdy. You absolutely cannot carry it by the handle. It’s functional for the price I recommend but, handle with care.

This is a good sized bowl - pretty much exactly right for taking a salad to a family get-together. When I first put it together, I was having trouble with the lid on the smaller compartment. It was easily fixed - the rubber gasket on the lid just needed to be pushed back flat against the rim. The thickness of the plastic looks sturdy and should hold up well. The pieces all stack neatly inside the bowl for storage. And I really like the versatility of being able to travel with the ice above the salad, and then when you get where you're going, the lid and ice can be set under the bowl for serving.

My wife liked having the ice storage in the top so she could add ice when needed, also allows her to use this bowl for salads like potato and macaroni containing some liquids. Only downside: the top fits so snug it requires a little pull to remove, thus people assume you need to twist the top handle to remove. Of course this removes the lid from the ice compartment not the lid from the bowl. They then look at you with a puzzling look on their face. So, my wife suggests you take the lid off when actively serving your guests and replace when everyone is served.

Does exactly what it says...keeps salad fresh from home to work and is equally handy on a buffet or dining table. Side clips snap on tightly and the screw top keeps the ice where it belongs.The plastic is crystal clear, and looks just as fresh as the salad it holds. For the holidays I made red ice cubes to add a touch of fun to this highly practical and attractive server. And it's very easy to clean, too!
