Ordered pipe part number from talking with Prier Rep on phone. Can’t order directly from Prier so I ordered this part on line to fix my faucet. Part I received is 0.25 in short and barrel diameter is larger than original. This is terrible quality specs. And part does not match what I ordered. Very disappointed!

This valve stem replacement is a perfect replacement part for my Mansfield faucet. The 8" stem is a total of 12" long which is what I needed. Make sure you go to Prier.com and click on "identify my product" so you know which one you should get. I didn't know if I had a 400 or 500 series stem but realized that if you can only turn your handle 180 degrees then you have a 400 series stem. if you can turn is 360 degrees you probably have a 500 series stem. The attachment in this review should help you get what you need.

I had to file down the threads in order to install and it's still very hard to turn. Will have to remove it and try to modify it more or some household members will not be able to use it.

While this part is correct according to manufacturer parts list, it did not fit. The threaded section did not thread into body of the valve. Other reviewers had similar experience.

I thought this would be an easy swap out of an old stem for new one. Was I wrong. As soon as a put the new replacement stem in, I knew something was wrong. It is now stuck and I can’t get it out. The threads are clearly machined out of tolerance with the original part. Probably going to need to call a plumber to fix this. Buyer beware!
