Suggestion for accuracy: measuring the overall length from end to end of the stem and then subtracting 4in to get the length needed for replacement. Product is manufactured in china. The item was incorrectly described and a 14" frost free stem kit. It is not 14".

First, don't leave a hose connected to a frost free hose bib over the winter. I had two fail this past winter because SOMEONE left hoses connected to them.Second, this stem fixed my issue even though I ended up not actually using the stem part. The issue is that the stem was too long for my applications. The manufacturer made frost free hose bibs in like 3 different lengths, and this was too long. As the stem never really goes bad it would be nice if they just sold a cartridge kit. Anyway I removed the new cartridge and replaced my defective one with it and replaced the two other seals and two metal washers with the new parts. Total replacement time was maybe 10 minutes. An easy job only requiring a #2 Philips screwdriver and an adjustable or 15/16" wrench. Overall I'm quite happy as now this doesn't leak. Gave 4 instead of 5 stars for lack of size description.

The item is 15 3/16" long from tip to tip. The cartridge is 2 9/16" long from end to tip of shaft, 3/4" OD, and has a slightly over 5/8" hex. The packing seal is 13/16" OD, 3/8" ID, and 9/32"(slightly over 1/4") thick. The stem was too long, so I transferred the cartridge and dust seal to my stem. The packing seal was too big, so I reused mine. My sillcock is the B&K(the logo on the plate is an M with a triangle pointing down above it), with an eight-sided handle having open trapezoid slots. The cartridge works smooth and quiet (it was previously screeching), with no leaks.

Was a perfect fit for my BK faucet I installed over 12 years ago. The broken one's barrel on the end of stem somehow broke off in the tube, but after getting that out, this was a perfect match..... thankfully. Could have been a nightmare removing old frost-free faucet...thank you!

I admit that you have to know a little about what this replaces, however this is 10 times cheaper than a plumber and you can do it with a wrench and screw driver. 15 minutes. Watch a YouTube video and discover your inner handiman self. You can do this every 5-10 years for ever. FOREVER!!! As long as they continue to make the part.

This does not fit the older style ceramic 12" shutoff. The correct part number for the older, longer style is BK Mueller 889-560. The overall length is 15 11/16" and can be found on other sites

Exactly what I needed. This fits a "newer style" BK/Mueller quarter-turn frost-free, the 12" length. The actual length of the stem is about 15-1/8". To remove the old one, you remove the handle, then remove the chrome "packing nut", then tug the stem out. I put the handle screw back into the stem to help my pliers get some grip when tugging the stem out - but make sure not to mangle the screw.The original one only lasted for a few years before it would drip constantly, hopefully this one will last a little longer.
