I've used several crops. This one is the best. Makes a good crack on strong slaps.

It arrived on time and undamaged. It seems to be made out of quality materials and the size feels sturdy in the hand. The ability to loop it around the hand adds security and stability when you use it. While it provides enough of a sting to be effective and fun, it does not hurt as much as a paddle would hurt. This makes it perfect for play. This item is great for the price.

Visually this product, it's very well made and pretty. The reviews are correct. It is quite loud upon striking more so than other toys. However, it does not offer any pain on impact, not even for beginners.I guess it is good as a stimulation toy, but not for real impact play.

Unlike some in the reviews, I am actually using this for a horse. My Tennessee walker has a naughty streak and I can only borrow the barn owner's things so many times before I'm a mooch. I bought this about two months ago and now wont get on my horse without it. Its lightweight, seems sturdy and makes a very audible noise when slapped. As I do with anything I'm planning to use on my horse, I tested it by whacking myself on the leg a few times. It didn't hurt at all, but the noise it makes is audible for sure. The times Ive had to give my horse a whack to get his attention are numerous, but one slap and he's aware that he's being an As*hat and needs to stop trying to buck. When inevitably this one breaks or wares out I will buy another. They are life savers on the trail as well.

Let’s be honest, if you’re going to buy a riding crop for equestrian purposes, you’re going to go to a specialty merchant, not Amazon. So we all know why people are really buying this off of Amazon. That said, I am now going to discuss the product. I was hesitant to buy it for the price. I figured for $12, it was going to be more novelty than anything else. This assumption proved true. Some other users stated that it would go well with a costume and I couldn’t agree more. If you need a low-cost accessory for an outfit, etc., this will work for you. I would also say if this is your first foray into making your personal life more interesting, this is a good entry-level product. If you are looking for high quality, I would strongly recommend looking at other products. The handle is some type of resin/plastic, which felt okay in the palm of my hand. It had some give, so it kind of forms to your grip. I don’t know if that was intentional design or just low quality material. It does have a strap to put your arm through. The staff is plastic and I can tell if the product receives heavy use, it will not last long. Lastly, the popper is a synthetic leather. It is not real leather as stated in the product description. Also, when this product came, I inspected it and I immediately noticed the popper’s synthetic leather was missing its outer layer, so I could see the exposed fibers. Before I saw the quality failure with the popper, I was going to keep it and treat it as a lesson learned and just use it as an introduction to using a riding crop. After I noticed the popper missing some of the outer layer of its synthetic leather, I determined it was necessary to return the product.I’m giving this three stars because of the incorrect advertising, the quality failure of the popper, the general overall quality, and the price point. I say three because this price point and quality level is perfect for a beginner. If you’re already experienced or don’t want to waste more money on upgrading to a better product, I would recommend looking for a higher price point product.TL/DR:If you’re new or looking for low price point, buy it. If you’re experienced or want quality, look elsewhere.
