The fit wasn't perfect, but acceptable enough. Just took a little massaging to get to fit in place on my Stihl MS180c.The rope on my stock starter frayed and gave way, I needed a quick fix and ordered this amazon MS180 starter assembly for about $18.00Wouldn’t start at first, cleaned off the spark plug and it fired right up.Otherwise stock ms180.Plan to add some dogs from amazon to the saw next.

Got this for my ms180, it had the ez2start system, the cord broke and while fixing that, the recoil spring popped out. After an unsuccessful evening of trying to get it in, I opted to order this. Fits perfect. Two wins in one. I didn’t care for the easy start, so this takes me back to my comfort zone. No clue how long it’ll hold up, but after 2 weeks and about 2 hours of use, still working well.

I love this Chinese stuff !!!I know I gotta modify it to work, but that's the fun part!I broke the rusty spring on my 11 year old MS180C andwanted to try out this cheap starter coil.First, this is not that creepy slow pull thing thatcame on the new saw. Good to see it gone in this assembly.Use a carpet knife to open up the oil/gas holes andtrim/sand off the plastic mold marks that can cutyour pinkies during assembly.Use 7/16" drill bit to drill out the safety bar pivot screw threads. The screw will make new threads. They didn't pre-drill it, but another easy fix.It will not fit totally flush, but Brother, its fine till I fix the old oneby finding a new spring.Best to all!North Central Florida3.12.2024

I tried to redneck engineer my chainsaw starter after the little plastic pin sheared off, but it STIHL didn’t work. Hopped on Amazon, found this replacement pull cord assembly, and two days later had my saw up and running again.
