I tried a few of the off brand filter bags for my Polaris 280 pool sweep for the last 3 years. The Polaris bag runs about $30, and the off brand bags can run about half the price, so I thought I would save some money and try the cheaper products. I discovered within a year that the off brand bags simply do not hold up over time. They last less than one pool season before the hook and loop (Velcro type) strip that seals the bag deteriorated to the point that it would not stay closed properly. Same for the little hook and loop tab that attaches the top of the bag to the hose. I had much more longevity with hook and loop on the genuine Polaris filter bags in the past. I think pool chemicals and UV sunlight exposure destroys the cheaper brand hook and loop much faster. The one sold here is the real Polaris product. I expect it to last longer. I also noticed that the original Polaris brand bag stays inflated and puffed up when the sweep is operating. The off brands I tried would often remain flopped over, which seemed to hinder the ability to gather debris. I'm sticking with the genuine Polaris bags from now on.

The original Polaris bag had a zipper. My purchase has Velcro which is harder to clean

Super replacement bags. I purchased 2, as one reviewer suggested, so one can dry out before emptying. I also went ahead and purchased a plastic clasp for the bag.I had one with my old bag, but this makes it easier to alternate the bags without having to move the plastic clasp back and forth.The mesh on the bags seems fine. I don't expect them to last more than a year as I use my Polaris a lot with pine trees nearby.I have a Polaris 280, which fits perfectly. The cost is half the price of my local pool store so I am happy to have 2 for the price of 1.

well its a replacement part and does its job. As part of the Polaris 280 cleaner system, this has been the best bang for the buck over the 9 years we've owned this swimming pool. The bags are pricey but can be found at various price ranges if you shop. Watch out for emerging knockoffs.We replaced the Polaris after 6 years of mostly year round use here in the southern US we keep the pool filter running year round even though we get freezing weather its not cold enough to fully shut down the pool and the cleaner is needed to stay on top of debris that constantly blows into the pool. So the 1st polaris got to where I was replacing bearings and fittings so bought a new one. THe old one was black and had black bags which for some reason seemed to deteriorate faster than these white ones for the newer white 280.THe 280 is probably the most popular of all cleaners. None of the decent cleaners come cheap but the 280 is relatively reasonable in price but offers very good performance in terms of picking up sand and leaves, even small rocks and the occasional dead thing....
