I was impressed how quickly they arrived. I wasn't too thrilled FedEx did not knock on door. They did survive sub-freezing Temps! Whomever put heat package in box did not activate it. It was ice cold & I crinkled it which made packet hot. There was enough insulation (Styrofoam) to keep them alive. I got a healthy selection of adult & juvenile snails. I recommend letting them sit in bag at room temp couple hours before transplanting. I always nick bag & let my potted plants have water from shipping. I don't recommend dumping the shipping water into any tank! The pics are not the best but acceptable. I removed the assassins to another area. (thankfully I caught 2 hidden assassins trying 2 kill zebra!) My 37g tank needs the attention of the nerites. They do add a nice flare or exotic touch! I kept them in my quarantine tank a week just to be safe. I highly recommend small quarantine tank for 2wks. I learned from more than one PetsMart incident... I can tell a difference in the glass just in short time they have been in the big tank. They will make quick work of decaying plants. Snails are a vital part of any aquarium! I even put pond, ramshorn or trumpets in water plant containers. They help keep the containers clean and provide maintenance for the plant roots. They also provide a valuable service in a planted tank as well. I always say no aquarium is complete without snails, but not any snails. You must be careful with the snails you select otherwise you will need to keep assassins on hand to control your mistake. Nitrites do not breed relentlessly! I am impressed with Polar Bears snails and shipping they provide! So when buying select Polar Bear!

I purchased a package of 10 Nerite snails. They arrived much faster than the estimated shipping date, which was a nice surprise as I had an algae bloom starting. They were packed with a warming pack, since it was winter. All 10 were alive and well when they arrived. They were all MUCH bigger than I was expecting, and much bigger than any I have received in the past from other companies. All shells were beautiful and healthy, no cracks. All 10 snails adapted easily and are happily eating algae in my tank. Never thought about getting live snails from Amazon before and was hesitant to try it, but Quinn’s Fins won me over. Thanks for a great experience, fast delivery and 10 happy algae eaters working their magic on the algae bloom in my tank!

Snails arrived all alive and beautiful!! But two have pretty badly cracked shells and few others the tip of their points are cracked off. They seem to be moving and eating and even burrowing down into the rocks in my tank. Hopefully they all live. It’s only been 1 day so if any die will update! Also hard to believe the damage happened in shipping as they were packed EXTREMELY WELL!! Will buy from this seller again! The price alone is outstanding compared to our local pet stores here in Upstate NY!! 1 snail can be $10.99!!

I ordered the 10 package, 5 Tiger - 5 Zebra ( received 5 zebra, 3 tiger, and 2 all brown ), they arrived in 4 days. I had prepared a large bowl of aquarium water to put them in - I plucked each one out of the plastic baggies, (containing about about 1 Tbs of water)and placed in the bowl. I let them sit there for 15 min. then put them into the very live planted aquarium which has no fish as yet. Two of them started to move around, next day only one is moving around. After a week, I finally tossed the 9 dead Nerite snails in the trash, and YES they were DEAD. The one that is left, a zebra, sleeps most of the time, moves over the brown algae, without eating. I dropped an algae wafer in the tank a week and a half ago, he was on the back side of the tank, I've never seen a snail move so fast across the tank to the front - then he just pushed it aside - never eating, I left the wafer all day, then took out, I wonder what the dealer fed them (?). Temperature is kept 77* - 78*, light on 10 hours, canister filtration with a bubblier at one end - 20L tank. Also, there was a paper in shipment that said = NO REFUND !!! Forty years ago I owned a pet and Aquarium store, for 18 years - I'm no nubie to this, never had this happen to me before. Beware of this shipper !!!
