  • HD Retrovision cables are properly engineered and constructed; don't settle for cheap unshielded cables which result in poor video quality and audio interference issues
  • Supports all available PS2 & PS3 YPbPr video resolutions up to and including 1080p (see product description below)
  • Full coverage 360° shielding prevents audio and video crosstalk (click on photos for more details)
  • Proper 75Ω (75 ohm) coaxial cable impedance for optimal video quality (click on photos for more details)

Use these high-quality cables to connect your PlayStation 2 or PlayStation 3 console to the YPbPr component video inputs on your TV or other video equipment. These cables are properly engineered and constructed to deliver the best analog video & audio out of your PS2 or PS3 console. The fully shielded design eliminates audio and video crosstalk, while the 75Ω (75 ohm) impedance effectively transmits the full video detail even at 1080p resolutions.

***WARNING*** for PlayStation 2 consoles only:
Certain software (i.e. most PlayStation 1 games and a handful of PlayStation 2 games) requires your TV or monitor to support “240p” (NTSC/60Hz regions) and/or “288p” (PAL/50Hz regions) over its YPbPr input(s) in order to use this product in those scenarios. If this a concern for you, then please test your equipment using HD Retrovision's 240p Compatibility Test prior to purchasing.

I own both the Sony OEM and HD Retrovision component cables, and in my honest opinion the HD Retrovision cable is better! I have my PS2 hooked up to an old Toshiba CRT through component input and the colors, sharpness, contrast and clarity have all been improved using HD Retrovision! Perhaps my old Sony OEM ones have worn out over time because the colors seem dull in comparison to the HD Retrovision cable, and the image is more fuzzy and grainy looking. If you are on the market for component cables for your PS2 PLEASE don't waste your money on cheap knockoffs. Spend the $30 and just buy these! You wont regret it

I found that the HD Retrovision cables helped provide better image clarity as well as brought out more vibrant colors on my PS2. They were able to unlock progressive scan (480p) for the few games that I own that support it. For the $30 they are selling for at the time of this listing I'd say that they are definitely worth it! Not a complete night and day difference over composite, but for sure an improvement!

If you don’t have a set of OEM PS3 Component Video cables (which happen to work just as good) and you can’t track any down in good/new condition and want something just as high quality, look no further than these HD Retrovision cables. Outstanding shielding and build quality will result in fantastic visuals!Personally, I use my PS2 SCPH-50001 primarily to play PS1 games on a my RCA MM36100 CRT with Component to attain perfect 240p 15kHz in its amazing 700 lines of TV Resolution on a nice RGB based connection. It looks incredible.I have all my Component Video systems running through a professional ShinyBow 5664 Component Video Matrix using MediaBridge Component Video cables from the outputs (these are great quality cables too and don’t put a death grip on your ports). I will say with full certainty that the video quality of PS2 games at 480i or 480p and Gran Turismo 4 at 1080i will all look as incredible on displays that process these signals as well (my RCA MM36100 only handles 240p/480i on the Component port), but I will consider this as I review signal quality on additional displays/ports that are compatible (such as transcoded Component 480p output to VGA on my RCA MM36100 or directly connected to my Pioneer 101FD Pro Plasma display). I use HD Retrovision cables for my SNES and Genesis as well and will vouch for those too. HD Retrovision makes a great product that is well worth it! As they say - you get what you pay for (well at least usually) and that holds up here. Will edit review with pictures soon.

There are better cables that are more expensive, and there are a LOT of terrible cables that are cheaper. This is your best money value if you want to upscale a PlayStation 2 through a RetroTINK -- component is higher quality to begin with than composite, and the cable is shielded so interference is unlikely (not impossible).

The HDMI port on my PS3 is faulty. This cable works and the picture quality is beautiful.

Absolutely night and day when swapping out the original AV cable! Menus are actually readable now and the image itself is brighter! Absolutely buy this is you're running a PS2 on a modern TV

The quality of the cable is excellent but the best thing is the image. It is the best cable I have tried for the PS2, it works perfectly and there is no noise or artifacts in the image. Much better than any generic cable. it is worth its cost

I was hesitant to buy these because of the price. At time of purchase, this had 4.8 out of 5 stars so I thought "Is it really worth it? Can a cable be that good?".. the answer is YES! These cables are that good. I've bought the quick adapter that plugs into the USB port but found it heavy and the picture was blurred with lines. Not cool. These cables have brought nice full color, great audio, and have made everything look a little less chunky. I'm waiting for them to restock these so I can buy a second set. HD Retrovision rocks!!!

Only way to play a ps2 now. Going side my side from this cable to the regular red white and yellow it's a night and day difference. Honestly was very surprised how much it improves picture quality. I think it may be because modern tvs cause screen tearing and distortion with the old equipment. Bottom line if you want to do some retro gaming with your ps2 this or an original Sony cable (which is hard to come by for a reasonable price especially here in Canada) is the way to go
