I was looking for planter box hangers that would work on a Trex railing and these seemed like a good bet.Out of the box, they appear very solid thick gauge metal. The problem came when I went to assemble them. I could not get the screws that go in the vertical piece to go in at all for the one bracket and the other they only went in under duress and the bottom screw is so close to the metal piece that you have to use a 90° screwdriver to put it in, which is not included. The other assembly screws all went in easily - it was just the vertical ones, which one might argue the most important parts -that I couldn't get together. You can see in the pictures how far I was able to get the screws in on one of them before they started stripping.The thumb screws at the bottom also don't fit in the holes provided at all, but I don't need those for my deck rail.The welding on one of the pieces was also really subpar, although the other looked better.In terms of sizing, this fits well on my Trek deck railing and will accommodate my planting boxes without a problem, if I can find screws that will actually work to hold them together. However it will definitely scratch the railing so it will need to have something between it and the railing to prevent that (like adhesive felt).
