I have been using a monitor light on my desk at home and I love how it does not take up my desk space and does not put a glare on my monitor. Now with this light, I can take the experience with me.Like my desk light, this portable light can adjust light temperature and brightness. This portable light attaches to the top of the laptop and is powered by a USB port. The light does not have a battery, so it needs to be plugged into the USB port of the laptop or a portable battery. I would have liked this light even more if it had its own rechargeable battery.The clip on that light should fit most laptops. I tried to use it with my Microsoft Surface Pro 7, but the case that I had on the Surface Pro made it too wide for the clip.This light emphasizes its portability by including a carrying case for the light and all its accessories.If you like your desktop monitor light, then you will like this laptop monitor light to take with you.

Pros:Ideal if you do not have a back-lit keyboard or need to plug in a peripheral in dim light. It even illuminates you sufficiently for a zoom or video recording.I like the fact that I could choose the color and brightness, and was able to have a soft yellow light at night.The light is steady with no flicker and it stays in place.The included carry case is sturdy, albeit a little large; you could always stash other peripherals in it too.Cons:It is a little difficult locating the controls in a darkened room once the light is clipped in place. I have to pull the laptop lid down a little to make adjustments.If you adjust the angle while clipped on, it will probably fall off; this is preferable though to it slowly collapsing, which it does not do.It does not remember your last settings.

This monitor light bar attaches easily to my Mac using a secure clip that allows for adjustment of the light angle. The USB cable is 29 inches long, excluding the length of the connectors, and is long enough to easily plug into my Mac port. My partner has a PC monitor, without USB ports, that is separated from his computer tower and he stated that the cord should be a few inches longer to accommodate this situation. A USB-C option would also be handy.This light is well made overall and the touch buttons consistently respond. The four color modes and five brightness levels provide a nice variety of light for any situation. It’s especially handy if you don’t have a backlit keyboard. It has a protective zippered carrying case that is well designed. The interior has a netted area for the power plug and the other side holds the light in place using two elastic bands. Overall, an impressive light and design!

This lamp is a nice addition for any small laptop work area. It clips securely and is lightweight. As a lamp, it works just fine, so no complaints there. I would have to say, however, this lamp is only for a laptop, or really thin computer monitor.I tried to use it for my desktop monitor, but unfortunately the clip it comes with doesn't open very wide, so even though I have new thin 4k monitors for my desktop, the clip still doesn't open wide enough to clip on; unfortunate because that would be an easy fix.Also, this lamp REQUIRES a USB slot in order to be powered, and does not have a rechargeable battery inside. I think that's also a bit of a bummer. It would be nice if it had a small lithium ion battery inside, for a quick clip and work, but ahh well. The description does say "USB-Powered".Again, as far as a lamp goes, yes it works great, and has 4 adjustable levels of brightness and 3 different modes of light. If you need a very lightweight and portable light for your laptop work area, this is a nice solution.
