Works but doesn't last long because it's not good metal.

Installed these about a year ago and they’re already pitting and blistering so significantly that we can’t get them cleaned up. We’ve always had good luck with Perko product’s on our boats but this windshield bracket is a serious disappointment. Don’t waste your money !!!!!! Get stainless steel.

I don’t know how long these window supports were in but you can see both were badly corroded and one was cracked.Luckily I found the exact replacement. 2 days later it was here and installed in 15 minutes. They look almost too shiny new for my old boat.I know it’s only chrome plated metal and not stainless steel, but hopefully it will outlasts me.

My previous window struts were very badly corroded but when i checked with the manufacturer there were none available. I found these on an Amazon link through a boating forum and was worried they wouldn’t be the correct ones, but they are a perfect replacement for the original ones. Just took a bit of work getting the fittings off as I had to remove the rubber gasket on the window to access the nuts on the inside of the frame. All good and I’m very pleased.

These are chrome plated. I don't know how old the other ones I have on my the port side are, so I am not sure of the longevity. They seem expensive to me, but it is a boat. They installed easily and work fine. If you are replacing ones you already have, you don't have a lot of choice. One suggestion: Lubricate where they rotate, and if it is on a windshield like mine is, you might want to try to get some of the salt off from time to time.. The turning point is where the old ones broke.

I replace these every five or so years due to metal failure. My marine windshield application really stresses them. But they work very well until they fail.I wish they were available in steel. I think that would improve my experience.Nonetheless less, easy to install and look great.
