This is hands down the best type of door sweep. I've been using the door sweeps with the rubber gaskets on them, but those wear out and are always coming out of the track because of the movement across the floor. These have bristles instead of a rubber strip, and provide for a much better (and better looking) sweep.

I live in a 2 story house and my lower level of the house gets really dusty and the floors get covered in a thin layer of dirt. I realized that dirt was coming in from the bottom of the front door. There was a gap that would get a tiny draft and dust would come into my house. I was also having ant issues during the summer when the LA heat was insane, and ants would somehow be able to crawl through the tiny gap of the door. These two issues were driving me insane and I needed a cheap solution asap. This door sweep is PERFECT. My floors aren't as dusty, and the ants cannot penetrate the bristles of the sweep. I also love that when the door opens and dust does come in, the door sweep acts as a broom and pushes dirty right back out. I also have cats so it also helps sweep cat hairs that are around the front door where my pets like to hang out. It's easy to remove the cat hair too which is nice. It also keeps my house warmer during the winter time so cold air isn't coming in from the front door. I would HIGHLY recommend this to anyone who is slightly interested in getting this product and has any doubts. This is the worth every damn penny I spent. It's high quality, easy to install. and exceeds my expectations.

*Updated* We installed this just a few days ago, so I will update my review if needed... but so far this door sweep has been pretty impressive, so I'm writing a review. Before installing this sweep, we lined sticky nontoxic spider traps on the inside of our front door to see if that might be part of why we have had such a horrible spider problem. Sure enough, we caught a cricket, a spider or two, and even a cockroach within a few days time. So gross. (Side note: don't rent a basement apartment.) So we took out the old rubber sweep and installed this one. We kept the sticky spider traps in front of the door to continue to monitor. Nothing so far, except for the huge wolf spider that ran in literally as soon as we opened the door, like it had been trying to get in and couldn't. Thank goodness it ran into the sticky trap waiting for it. Hoping this sweep continues to be awesome!Update: Sad to say, but a brown recluse was able to make its way through the bristles and into the sticky spider trap waiting for it on the other side. Ugh! The sweep has been an improvement, but I'm going to knock the rating down to 3 stars.

I got this to replace a rubber door bottom seal on a mudroom exterior door that often feezes to the sill. I think this will solve that problem because it is not solid and is mounted on the inside of the door. But the thickness of the brush is not much of a barrier to cold or driving rain (can see through it) - it should keep out bugs, but time will tell if it is weatherproof enough. Making the brush thicker would improve this, but then it would create more drag on closig. Easy enough to cut and install.

I specify Pemko products in my line of work, so it made sense to use it for my own home. Easy to install and it works great. Keeps the drafts, bugs and whatever you don't want out of the house. We live along a windy street, so it blows hard and we use to find bugs, leaves, etc get blown in under the door. You have to cut to fit if your door is a little under 36" wide. Easy enough if you have a hack saw or jigsaw. If you have a crimper, you can crimp the metal ends of the nylon brush to ensure the bristles do not unravel and fall out. Otherwise some Gorilla glue or a generous amount of sealant or super glue will do the same but will not be as permanent a solution. I have since bought two more and will be installing at my other entry doors.

I extracted the brush part from the metal holding so I could cut the thing down and bond it to the door frame. It works very well on 3 different doors and keeps unwanted bugs from entering the room. Also does a good job on uneven floors to keep the draft out.I like the fact that for one of the doors I used this on, the bristles of the brush sits smooshed against the uneven floor and yet is completely fine when the door opens. The bristles doesn't permanently change shapes... yet... for now, it's perfect.

We used this on an entrance door to our high rise condo. Cooking and smoking odors, breezes and sounds were filtering in under the door. Since we have a small area rug in the entrance hall, most door sweep and foam insulation would not work. We thought we would five this a try. It arrived quickly. It fit the door width perfectly. The grey color is very unobtrusive. An because it has bristles, it goes over the entrance rug with no difficulty. Most importantly, it absolutely blocks the smells, sounds and breezes. For our purposes, it works perfectly.
