Got this during the direct drive craze back in 2010- was using DW double chained pedals, an older Ludwig Speed King, and Pearl’s Power Shifter Eliminator Double Pedal also came out.Fast forward to 2023- Demon Drive (DD) metal hardware’s ok. Plastic screw wheel just above where the bottom spring ring connects to the secured clip metal screw wheel broke. Used crazy glue to fix, though it’ll likely break again. This is where Pearl unlike DW skimped on quality. DD’s adjustment parts should have been ALL metal. Never had this problem with my DW 5000 solid footboard pedal and its metal parts are still intact.In performance the DD’s Direct drive’s less forgiving since there’s no slack that you get in chain driven pedals. I use a tighter batter head to optimize rebound for the DD. Perhaps blast beat drummers like the DD though I wouldn’t trust it because of the broken plastic screw wheel. Those players like longer footboards and extreme heavy wear/tear on their gear. Axis pedals are amongst their favs.Overall, I’m probably old school and find either the double chained DW 2000 or 5000 series pedals are more versatile and durable for a range of styles.

It’s not completely easy to submit a review for this, but it’s worth it to mention that this pedal arrived to me 8 days after I ordered it, so if you’re deterred by the 12 days it says it takes, worry not, because the wait is definitely worth it. Especially if you’re looking to buy a pedal you can upgrade in the future. I was concerned about the price being slightly less than competitors prices everywhere else, but I was assured that what I ordered was genuine Pearl equipment and the proof was in just how well this pedal works! It was packaged very well, and came with a really nice Pearl branded case and oil for the ninja bearings, which is not pictured or mentioned in the products description. Which, by the way, if you’re a skeptic about this pedal for physics reasons… don’t worry about that either.. it really is smooth and virtually effortless to control. Very fast and has so many adjustable parts, the possibilities are endless. Didn’t see any other reviews from the US, so I hope this one makes it on the short list. This shop was definitely a thrill to do business with and I am glad I took the chance on buying from them, given the lack of current customer reviews. Thanks again, and hopefully this helps you, if you’re in the market for a new pedal but want to save a few bucks. Ships straight from Japan and customer service is prompt if you ever have any questions. Personally I think this is a steal, considering the P3000C (chain driven model) is listed on Amazon for considerably more money, without the added benefit of a direct drive. This one is a huge win for me. If you have the money, buy this pedal!

Wer jegliches Spiel zwischen den Komponenten eliminieren will, für den ist die Demon Direct Drive genau das RIchtige. Das Pedal lässt sich in wenigen Schritten zum Longboard umbauen. Durch den erhobenen Ballenbereich weiß man jederzeit, wie der Fuß auf dem Pedal positioniert ist.Das Schlägelgewicht lässt sich stufenlos anpassen, ebenso alle anderen Parameter wie Federspannung, Umlenkpunkt und andere.

ダイレクト自体が初購入なので、ダイレクトってものがこういうものなのかもしれないけど、とにかく今迄普通に踏んでたチェーンのものとは明らかに違う踏み心地。何なんだろ、重軽い？最初は軽いのかなぁと思ってたけど、慣れてくるとところどころ重いというかぎこちないというかしっくりこない感じが段々してきて…。んで、純正じゃないけど、軟いスプリングに強引に変えたら、踏んだまんまのレスポンスになって、自分的には最高！！結論としては、これ、標準のスプリングが硬すぎるような気がする。軟い純正も出してくれれば〜という期待も込めての星３つです。
