I am a left-leg amputee and have wanted a direct drive for a long time. I picked these up and I feel like a complete rockstar. I may post a video of these bad boys in action, they are impressive. I would give it more stars if I could

Love the long pedal boards.. makes fast single strokes way faster with less energy used and hits hard however double strokes just felt weird. Definitely got to give it a week to get used to but once you do direct drive is the only way for metal and either extremes genres .

I’ve been reading a ton of “meh” to “terrible” reviews, and I believe them to be strictly in the eye of the beholder, as it were. I bought these on a whim because I was getting bored with my old DW8000 set up, and I figured these would be a decent re-introduction to direct drive pedals. Before I continue, I have to state that I have had a set of Axis DD longboards in the past, and I absolutely LOATHED them. No power, and so many pieces-parts that it seemed like I was replacing things more than I was playing the pedal, so my initial experience with direct drive was sub-par, and I was simply hoping for something that might give a hair better experience.Out of the box, there was very little adjusting and almost no setup time. I get frustrated easily, so it took me a minute or so to figure out how to raise the footboard on the slave pedal, but once I did that and adjusted the springs, I was off. These things play like butter. Full disclosure: I play stuff with tempos that change from funeral doom to blasting black metal, and I need something that excels at both slow and tempos, and this fit the bill 100%. I replaced the stock beaters with a set of Lowboy Standards, and this sucker makes my kick drum absolutely sing. Plenty of bounce with minimal effort, and it’s actually seemed to help me tighten up my timing and beater equality. I play a 24x14 maple kick, and this sucker makes that drum louder than Bob.Obviously, everyone of going to have their own individual experience when it comes to gear, but I tend to think that PDP, being DW’s slightly antisocial little brother, gets some unfair treatment and criticism. I actually sold my DW kit because I preferred my PDP kit (it wasn’t even close, truth be told), and now I’ve replaced a helluva DW pedal with a PDP, and I couldn’t be happier. To each their own, but don’t let the “mehs” fool you - this is a great pedal, low-ish price or no.

This is my first direct drive pedal. It was a bit weird to get used to at first but within a few hours of playing it feels very natural. Pedal does have a bit of a squeak to the springs that I can’t quite get to go away. Can’t hear it while playing though. Also no matter how tight I get the rod set screws, one of them always seems to back out every once and awhile. I really like how big the foot boards are, and they’re smooth so it’s easy to do foot slides

Preface: before purchasing these pedals I was using Gibraltars direct drive Intruder pedals for the past 3 years.I bought these thinking they would at least be a lateral step and due to the quality looking build; sleek minimalist design. I thought the elongated foot boards would really fit my niche for double bass drumming as I play "heel-up" but sadly these pedals failed to impress.I play in a heavy metal/deathcore band where frequent use of steady and fast double bass along with triplets and doubles are frequent throughout every song. Unfortunately no matter how much I tightened or loosend the tension of the springs this pedal felt sluggish and/or the kick return was darn right violent and too hindering for any quick double bass work.Would not recommend to anyone that has experienced any of the other name brand direct drive pedals.

I went from normal car, to sport's car ! Direct drive was said to feel different from the chain i guess so? But the control is so much better ,no loose feel or wiggles that alone can make you kick better. Trust me this is a really good pedal.I'm sure those other more expensive pedal's have more option's and that's great ! but for a $1000.00 to $1500.00 when you can pay around $300.00 for this. You wont regret it i didn't.
