Your dog wearing the collar will receive a slight static correction when they approach a preset distance you decide on. As long as your dog stays near the wire, the warning tone and correction will continue, which encourages your dog to return bakc to the safety zone of your yard.
After successfully setting up the whole electric dog fence system and starting to work, the transmitter will send a radio signal that the wire then broadcasts.
Signal Field Width:
You adjust how wide the transmitter signal field will emit from the wire. The signal field represents how close the dog can get to the wire before the collar beeps and shocks. The higher the number on the transmitter is set, the wider the distance of the signal field is.

I'd give this a zero if I could. It might work well if the collar would turn on! I got this system yesterday, charged the collar over night, and it won't turn on. The button clicks, it just doesn't hold charge. These "vine customer reviews" of customer reviews really got me this time!

So far this dog fence is working alright for us. I really can’t tell if maybe my lab pup is just stubborn or maybe the collar is not quite right. It seems to be working like it should. I set up the line which was very easy to do. We don’t have it buried, it’s just set on the ground right now while we figure out the exact spot we need it. After the line was all set up I put the collar on my arm and tested it all out. I wasn’t going to put it on my dog without testing it out on myself first. Everything seemed to work as it should. The collar is not very heavy at all compared to other training collars we have tried.So I say this is a work in progress because there are times my dog will stay back from the line when he gets the warning tone, and there are other times when he just runs right up to and then over it. Luckily we have this in front of a gate we want him to keep back from, so even if he crosses it, he won’t escape the yard. The collar is always charged each night so I don’t think it’s a matter of battery losing charge. I think sometimes my dog just gets over excited and doesn’t care about the collar on him. So I’m not sure if it’s the fence that’s not working or just my dog. But it is still a good training tool as we work on staying back from the gate. Maybe once he’s a bit older he will understand the fence more.

I installed this at our cottage this past weekend and it was an easy project. We use 2 other wireless systems and the dog responds to this one as well as to the wireless ones. The components for this are great quality and everything works well.

For quite some time, I've been thinking about something similar to this PcEoTllar Electric Fence for Dogs to allow the dog a bit more freedom. Our current pup is very energetic and the deck and small fenced in area (which was enough for a couple of labs) lasted about twenty minutes until Roxie decided she could just jump over the railing and have a high time running around the neighborhood.So, we needed something more and landed on this product. I'll be honest, I've been staring at it in the garage for a couple of months now - the idea of installing it made procrastination my friend. Ultimately, I have laid it out and hooked it up - the product works electrically, time will tell if it will curb my dog's habit of trying to run.I did notice that the wire is rather thin and has to be buried just right - too deep and you won't get enough signal, on top or just barely under the grass and it would be subject to damage. Plenty of wire is provided - about 600 feet, which is sufficient for the area we want to enclose. The instructions are fine, the power unit and collars seem well made - overall, other than the thin wire, the quality is above average.Now that the product is down and operating correctly, the hard part starts - training the dog. I think that will be as much a factor of my patience and tenacity, as opposed to an indicator of the product's effectiveness. Time will tell - for now, we rate this as a good buy.

this definitely helps redirect my dogs when they are trying to wander out of my yard. it was a little bit of a chore to install, but this is to be expected. I would recommend this for both the quality and affordability.

To clip the collar, the black buckle has to be through the ring that the lead clips onto.Makes it annoying and over fiddly.Bad design.
