Compact design very similar to that of TermalarestZ. But just a bit thinner. When folded up is about an inch thinner.Used on it for 6 days in recent trip. Just wish it can be thicker to not feel the stones.Compares to air mattresses, folded pads will always be too thin when rain gets in the tent.

I have never been a fan of inflatable sleeping pads. I hate trying to pump the pad up. Then having to get the pad deflated and rolled back up small enough to put in the bag, is just a pain. I am all for products that make life easier. Think about it this way: you have hiked for miles and now all you want to do is lay down. Do you feel like pumping up a sleeping pad? I don't! This closed cell foam sleeping pad is so easy to use; just spread it out and you are ready to relax. Now am I saying that it is the most comfortable thing to sleep on? No, I am not. The bumps make it less than comfy. I suggest using something on top of the pad to help cushion it. We are personally using it under our foam mattress when we are car camping. It helps with insulation and with the mattress on top you don't notice the sleeping pad. I also like to use it for when I am sitting on the ground. It is much better than sitting directly on a hard surface. For my use, I give it a 5-star rating.

I had never tried one of these folding foam pads, but I have been wanting to try them out because of the obvious advantage of not having to inflate it, and avoiding punctures and being completely waterproof.First of all, this one is quite large. If you are 6 feet or less, you will find it provides sufficient sleeping space. It also provides very good insulation in my opinion, having one side reflective surely helps. At just 15 ounces according to my digital scale, it also lighter than any of my inflatable pads, just a bit more bulky. You can also quickly pull it out and use it as a sitting mat to avoid sitting on a hard surface or on the wet/cold ground. However, I will say that it is not for me. Personally, the level of comfort provided by an inflatable pad suits me better. Given the plusses provided by this pad, next camping trip I will try this paired with an ultralight inflatable which is not that comfortable. Together they may be comfortable enough, warmer, and puncture proof. I will let you know, but in the meantime I like this pad, it's just not comfortable enough for me to sleep on.
