Cannot say much more. It does what it should, extending battery life, helping with shooting in portrait, keeping bad weather out. And it is a good deal less expensive than anywhere else. I had an imitation prior and returned it. It left gaps where the worse crud could infiltrate and the feel of the shutter button was just too different from that of the camera itself. That grip has a major design flaw though, and it is the AF/AEL button that is just awkward to access.

This battery grip is an excellent tool to double your battery life for the Lumix G9.At first, I was concerned I received a faulty unit because I couldn't get the battery grip to work; however, it was ultimately user error and not the battery grip itself.You'll want to go into your camera settings and ensure that the battery grip (BG) is selected as the first battery to use. If you don't do this step than the camera will default to the battery in the camera first.I was also unaware that there is a seperate on/off switch on the BG. This switch doesn't disconnect the battery, but it does activate/deactivate the buttons on the grip so you can disable them to prevent accidental button pushes.Pros:-Doubles battery life-Makes the camera look more expensive :)-Adds more versatility in portrait photography-Can allow for infinite battery life by allowing the user to swap out the battery grip battery as they are depleted.-High Quality MaterialCons:-Very Expensive-Adds a level of bulkiness-Wouldn't recommend using in conjunction with a gimbalAll in all, I've used the clone battery grips for my other cameras and this does feel more solid so I do expect it to last longer. I'm happy with my purchase and will update further if needed.

Excellent add on for the G9 that helps taking vertical shot as easily as the more common horizontal shots. The downside to using this add on is it makes the camera look huge and would not be a good addition for street photography. The vertical grip isn't heavy by itself but does add to the overall weight. Once placed on the camera.... should your camera battery lose it's power, the grip battery takes over. You need to remove the grip to get at the camera battery which is one disadvantage. another helpful benefit for using the grip is you get a much better hold onto this already great camera..The overall build quality is quite good and all controls are duplicated on the grip.I am keeping this add-on even though I will use it sparingly. This is a must add on for portrait and pro photographers. It;s much less important if most of your shots are horizontal but if you really like taking vertical shots and find holding the camera awkward, you will love this add on and should consider it a must addition like a portrait lens.

Does what it’s supposed to do; however, the design could be better. Installing it makes it impossible to swap out the battery that is in the main body of the camera.

Works good, however for me added to much weight and bulk, easier to carry extra battery in pocket when needed.
