Very cute water painting set. The boys need something fun and engaging like this from time to time to keep them entertained. They love to do crafting and other projects. I love to have something fun setup that they can use if they get up early morning. The mess is minimal with this style instead of a large pot of colours and endless paper. This helps them to focus on quality instead of quantity.

This paint-with-water book is a nice little book for kids to use their creativity and have some fun. The watercolor paints and paper are not artist quality, but they are good enough for painting some sweet paintings and enjoying it. The set comes with everything you need to paint except for water.The book comes with 12 little pads of watercolor paint, a paintbrush, four pages of colour mini images that are in the book, and 20 full-sized pages of black-and-white images that you can paint on thick paper. The paper is thick enough that the paint does not go through. The pages buckle a little bit with water but it's pretty good.The mini images that are examples of the already painted images are so useful; kids can get an idea of how they might want to paint the images which is very helpful. It can help them learn how to paint well or just inspire them.The paint doesn't have a lot of pigment; the paints are a bit faint, but you can paint over them to darken them a little. The images are sweet and fun, and most everything you need is included.This set is pretty mess-free with everything contained in the book and it is a great little book to inspire creativity and let kids have some fun.

This is a great activity for toddlers and younger kids. Water colours never get old! It's great for keeping little ones busy and without creating a big mess. Lots of colours and pages for them to choose from. Excellent value!

Was a wonderful gift for two granddaughters, who really enjoyed unleashing their artistic imagination to paint the selection of pictures. Comes with everything you need, but might want to hit up Dollarama for extra brushes!And 20 pages wasn't enough, especially when you've enticed grandpa to paint as well! Like eating chips - once started, grandpa can't stop! Hey, isn't it your bedtime yet??It's okay, grandpa will clean up and put everything away - after just 1 picture!

There are many cute designs throughout this book. It is a great quality for the price. It is a fun portable activity for children. It is easy to pack to take places. The paint washes off easily of any surfaces and does not stain fabric.

Great present for kids! Good variety of colors and pictures. It gives examples of the pictures painted at the beginning. It has quality paper, paint and brush. The brush is small for those small hands. Good activity for the little ones.

The description of this painting book, "painting with water" is a bit misleading as it's watercolor paints. A little bit of water activates the color discs. The paint brush holds a small amount of water so a small child could paint without making too much of a mess. The pictures appear to get more detailed as you go through the book. There are examples in the front of the book as to what the picture could look like after it's painted.

Fun water paint kit for children ages 3-8 years of age. Kit comes with a 20-page booklet with multiple illustrations, color display reference diagrams, and 12 watercolors with a paintbrush. This painting kit is a nice project for kids. I like that it is all one piece. The paints themselves are very small. I know you don't need that much for water color but it could have been more. Priced well for a quick project to keep kids busy.

This book has a delightful selection of pictures for painting by young children. 12 paint colors are included, along with a paintbrush. The pages are not pages that “magically turn colors” when brushed with a wet paint brush; the set uses traditional water-color paints that require loading color onto the paintbrush from the small strip of paint pots provided. The book will work well with preschool through first grade. The drawings are simple enough for younger children, while the provided sample pictures give older children the opportunity to see if they can combine colors to give similar results. Successful engagement with this book might depend on your child’s interests. Ten of the pictures have a fantasy/fairy theme, while the other ten pictures have an animal theme. I know that combination will be excellent for some of my grandkids, while some of the other grandkids would prefer to skip the fantasy/fairy themes.

I am finding that this all-in-one watercolour set is working well as a kind of entry-level art experience for the younger children, who see older siblings and their friends using acrylic paints and markers to create some pretty impressive artwork, and quite naturally want to be part of the experience. Because this activity does involve both paint and water, I do make sure to put down a layer of newspaper (I want to try something more durable, maybe a silicone mat), on the floor or table where the kids are working. This particular set has a good selection of colours available, and the pictures in the book are tasteful and fun. I don't think the paints will last to the end of the book, largely because the younger children using the set are still learning about proper mixing, etc. That's not really a big problem, because any remaining pictures can be coloured using crayons, coloured pencils, or markers, or I might even pick up an extra set of just the water colour paints at one of the local dollar stores. I do like this kind of activity set, where it's not necessary to find and set out multiple items that later have to be cleaned and put away. With this kit, the only thing not included is a little cup of water. It's also a nice touch that the individual pages are made to be removeable, meaning it's always easy to take a finished page from the book, and stick it up on the fridge to be admired. More than just a standard colouring book, I think this is a well-planned activity product.
