These work great at removing paint and rust without damaging or marring the metal like a grinding wheel would do. Works a lot faster than what I wire brush wheel on a grinder would do. Saved a lot of time cleaning up a rusted brush guard.

I first started using this type of disc last year while restoring a utility trailer. They work much better than flap discs for removing old paint and rust. The big name brand discs are rather expensive, sometimes costing over $10 apiece, so I was optimistic about trying these WelderElite discs. While I did not do a head-to-head comparison I can say that these work quite well, especially considering the asking price. They don't clog up, they get the job done, and they are well balanced on my grinder. These are a consumable item so really you're looking for the best performance for the money. These definitely perform well for the money. I would probably prefer a 4-1/2" diameter for most of the work I do but these fit my 5/8" arbor, 4-1/2" grinder just fine. I've also used them to smooth out the finish after milling down some steel blocks and thy worked great for that too. Overall an excellent product.

I am using these to strip paint off some old car doors, and they are working really well. They don't load up like a flap wheel, and they don't cut into the metal like a grinding disk. I am using water to keep them cool, and it is going just as good as I could hope for. No metal warping, several coats of paint gone in one whack, and the metal is pretty much ready for primer after these are done with it. I still haven't worn out one disk, so they are long lasting too. Not bad at $2.50 each.Love em!

Very aggressive abrasive coated mesh in two strengths. (not labeled for grit equivalent, but I'm guessing about a 40 and 80)The open mesh construction does not clog easily, perfect for heavy paint removal.good units

I haven't tried stripping any paint but stripping rust and adhesives - AH MAH ZING! I have used these to quickly deburr my exhaust pipes and it did not leave any sharp edges. Because it came in a set, I ended up looking for things to strip. This is a must have for all DIYers because, it can be used for things within your home and also for cars. Anything with a metal surface, these will be your best friend!

Good paint removal disc for a good price. These work well for removal of paint from metal objects. I recently used them on a rusty rail and was able to remove most of the rust and paint where required. These are much better to use on areas where a 4" grinder can reach than a wire brush. They're easy to install on the grinder, they install like any other typical grinder attachment. They're about as durable at some of the other disc in the price point. I couldn't tell much of a difference in durability between the more expensive ones and these. They come in two colors where they mention distinct grit levels in the product description, but I couldn't tell the difference between the colors during use.

These are great stripping discs for so many uses...I have an older utility trailer that I've wanted to refurbish. The wood deck had to come off (to replace) because there was rust forming everywhere that I wanted to deal with. I've been avoiding the project because the trailer has so many surfaces and odd-shaped welded steel and aluminum parts that needed to be cleaned up, treated, primed, and painted.I started using a wire wheel on my grinder but moved to these discs. Wow, what a HUGE difference! These wheels strip the paint fast and leave the metal ready to paint. Even the fenders and nicer bodywork didn't need much sanding beyond what these discs did. In truth, I used these to strip the paint, cleaned with a prep solvent, then primed with a heavy-build sandable primer to finalize the finish. Getting it ready for a smooth topcoat was easy and the end result looked awesome.I'm so impressed with these grinding disks. They are fairly flexible, super durable, and really cut paint and rust. Importantly, they last a long time. I was able to strip the whole trailer -- frame, suspension, fenders, tongue/hitch, etc. with just four disks!!I wholeheartedly recommend these for steel, aluminum, masonry, wood, etc. They are super effective and satisfying to use. Great seller, excellent product, and fast shipping!
