It’s the right size, and looks like good quality. I’m using it for a small raised and portable wood fire pit, and one burn in and it did fine, though it seems it’s not it’s recommended use according to the packaging. My firepit is so small and also raised high though, it doesn’t build as much heat as some. I wish it had been stated more clearly in the listing. I probably would have gotten something else though if I’d known.

We have had to sort of by default end up killing some grass in the corner of the yard when we want to sit around our nice burn pit. This provides a much better option, especially when we have people over. We will now be able to set up our burn ring on the concrete basketball court we built out back. Much easier to sit and stand around while you sip & socialize and far fewer mosquitoes. We have avoided this in the past because that heat weakens concrete over time but with this mat that is no longer a concern.

This is a well-made mat that indeed measures 34 inches in diameter. The Amazon listing does indicate that it is for CSA-approved gas fire pits (and specifically designed for Outland brand gas fire pits); the package insert says that it is not to be used with wood fire pits (in somewhat of a contradictory manner, the box says not to be used with MOST wood fire pits - they don't specifically state which wood fire pits it could work with so I assume you would need to know whether the wood fire pit exceeds its maximum operating temperature of 800F to 1000F). It would be helpful if they specifically mention the limitations for wood fire pits in their Amazon listing.

It is a good mat and does work just fine under our 15" (diameter) metal round firepit, but the price doesn't feel competitive. For this price, I'd have wished it came with a snap closure or something attached to keep it rolled up. It does the job and functions well, so I only removed one star for lack of convenience of storage given the pricing. Although it says not for use with wood firepits, our pit is a completely portable, 15" tall, solid-sided steel can, lifted up on a metal ring (which remains cool to the touch even when the fire is burning), and we keep a spark screen on it at all times. It never gets hot under our firepit, but this mat gives us a little extra confidence in protecting our new patio surface.

We are using this in conjunction with the Outland Propane Fire Pit that we purchased at a big box warehouse store that starts with a C. We've had it for many years, but used on a stone paver in our yard. We've since moved to a 3 story house with Trek decking upstairs and now feel better about using our fire pit on the deck. It fits it perfectly and allows us some level of confidence that we won't melt our deck boards!It's a great fit that I would definitely recommend if you have a deck!

This Outland mat is sized perfectly for use with the Outland gas fire pit. It is clearly meant for gas fire pits and should not be used with wood. High quality. Good price. It's highly recommended to protect the surface below the gas fire pit.

I ordered this Outland Living 34" Flame Resistant Fire Mat and I like it. It seems well-made and is exactly 34" in diameter. It fits perfectly under my gas fire pit and looks nice. It gives me peace of mind knowing that my new wood deck has an extra layer of protection.
