It has a more oval profile than our round Lazar Line, which has several different characteristics. It has less memory, is easy to handle, and shoots very well. The oval shape created more torsional strength, resisting line twists. This also results in less drag and less tendency to get caught up in the first stripping guide when shooting. This oval mono has great knot strength and is preferred by anglers who want the benefit of a mono running line with a little more handleability. Available in three sizes: 30lb, 40lb, and 50lb. Note, I’m probably not the best caster. But after a few years running Lazar line, I cannot find a single negative about the oval line! I’m able to toss my commando head just as far if not a wee bit further, it’s easier to handle and strip line. And it kinks 1000% less (okay maybe an exaggeration but still)The best shooting line I’ve run so far! And like most Spey guys, I’ve tried quite a few lol.

Love this line! Very easy to hang on to and doesn’t coil. It shoots a country mile since it is oval, very little drag compared to flat versions.

I wasn’t sure about this after experiences with the lazar line. But this is a real improvement. It shoots better and kinks stretch out easier. Very good running line, much better than competitor brands as more supple, less memory, and easier to straighten out. The oval shape doesn’t do that much though for improving handling - I don’t notice any difference to the lazar line.

Way less line memory than the round,even in below freezing temps.Line twist is greatly reduced.Replacing all the previous opst mono,with oval on all my setups..

Haven't tried it out on water to date which will now probably be in the next summer 2024. Did try it out in the field and was really impressed
