Primer rod was well built, came quickly...I ordered the wrong one, but am sure it would have worked flawlessly if it were the right size

If you have gone and stored your motor with out frequent starts this is your answer. Put it on your drill and spin on low speed it the direction of your distributor and listen to the oil being tossed around your engine. A must have for my Mustang!

THIS IS A DUMB BUT EFFECTIVE DEVICE WHEN CHUCKED UP IN YOUR DRILL IT DOESN'T KNOW WHICH WAY TO GO. AS THE OWNER-USER, YOU GOTTA KNOW IF YOUR OIL PUMP IS A CLOCKWISE OR COUNTERCLOCK WISE OPERATING MACHINE...MAKE SURE YOUR DRILL OPERATES IN A COMPATIBLE WAY WITH THE PUMP. YOU'LL BE PUMPING CRUDE JUST LIKE THE BIG BOYS.

Unfortunately, you need this tool to confirm oil pressure after rebuilding the engine. Worked great...spun it up and had oil pressure and oil circulating through the engine and up the lifter rods. Just what I needed.

If you're looking at this item, chances are you already know what you need. I bought this to restore a 1983 Ford 460. Performed exactly how it should. The shaft is steel and the alignment disk is aluminum. Wont be something that gets used often anymore, but it will last well after I'm gone.

I purchased this to use on a Ford Windstar with the 3.8 engine. It will not work on this motor even though it has the correct 5/16 hex pump drive . The problem is that the 3.8 needs a male hex to drive the pump directly, and this tool has a female hex to mate with the oil pump drive shaft on a V-8 SBF. I needed to cut the end off a 5/16 allen wrench and epoxy it to the end of the tool. I also needed to machine a different adapter bushing so the tool would fit into the 3.8 access hole.In other words, it doesn't work on ALL Fords.........This picture posted with this review shows the modified tool next to the 3.8 'distributor'.
