Works but apparently 1997 honda accord ex 2.2 requires an oem alternator to keep battery light from turning on and off, especially in low speeds. All cables are secured on battery + everything else has been inspected. Still working and charging.

Installed the alternator according to the maintenance manual. After installing, son took the car to work. He works nights. The headlights dimmed along with the dash lights. The other day the car stalled on the highway driving home. Got the car home and checked the battery. It wasn't charging. So I checked the connections, the battery was good but when I checked the alternator, it had a broken tab on the alternator. So I put the old alternator back in and the battery is charging but it's the original alternator which is 30 years old. 1995 Honda Accord 2.2L L4 F22B2 engine. Now I see that I'm 3 days too late to return the new alternator. $78 down the drain. I would like to know how the tab can break so easily. I found the broken piece inside the female connector slot.
