Accidentally tossed the original cable that goes with the FAT PS3. This is the same shape and fits perfectly fine. Actually, even better since the original cable required some force to connect. This one slips right on without any trouble.

I spent $16 for a regular $3 power cable...nothing special. Instead of a picture of the WRONG end of the cord, it would be better to see what actually gets plugged in. Useless to me. Yes, I read it before purchase, Yes my PS3 is the oldest one and still uses a standard cable/smaller cable. One would think that after all the complaints the seller would modify the advertisement to better suit the product.

It has different plug and it does't fit for Playstation 3. Box is described as playstation 3 power cord but inside i have wrong cord.

Unless you have a really old PS3 (like the very first original one), all others take a completely different cord. Since it's really hard to tell from the picture what the end looks like that plugs into the unit, this picture is VERY misleading. This cord will work great for your computer, but for MOST PS3's it doesn't.

I don't know how I did it but I lost my original PS3 power cord after I packed it up for repairs when I got the YLOD (yellow light of death). This replacement cord from Nyko worked perfectly thank goodness.

I cheapened out and bought a generic cable on eBay from Hong Kong and it didn't work right. It kept tripping the power because it needed to be plugged in at a certain angle and it didn't seem to ever want to stay that way.So then I bought this, and it worked perfectly... from the start... And I still use it to this day. (I bought it about three months ago and use my PS3 on a daily basis). Great value! Learn from my mistake and go this route first!

This replacement power cord is NOT compatible with the ps3 slim edition. It also doesn't fit into the oldest edition of the ps3... buyer beware

This cord came up as the first item in my search for "PS3 power cord". Only after I have received it I realized that it is not for the slim console. The cord itself is of a regular quality and will work just fine for the fat PS3.

I purchased this power cord to make it easier to move the unit about in my house. I leave the cords and hdmi cables plugged in , one at each tv and simply move the ps3. Works great especially since the ps3 has wireless internet access. Cable is identical to the one on the ps3 ( mine is the older full size unit, not the newer small size-may work on it as well). Unit comes in a bubble pack and is made by Nyko.I have a ps3 charger bought from amazon made by Nyko and it works great also. Highly recommend if you need one.Amazon packs all their electronic products very well and shipping is very fast.

We bought this cord so we could move the PS3 from my son's room to the family room without having to disconnect the cord behind his TV stand and then our TV wall unit, where we use it to watch BluRay HD movies...now we have one at each location (with a HDMI cable as well). It fit the PS3 just fine and powers it perfectly...and all for about $5 or $6....much less expensive than a Sony brand cord.
