This pan is definitely flimsy! Seems like it could bend or dent very easy. What is crazy about it is it says in the description "heavy duty". I would not say this is sturdy and would question how long it will be useable.

I am kind of disappointed by this. I needed a good tart pan in this size and I like the removable bottom, so I decided to give this a try. Unfortunately the whole thing is very thin and cheaply made. The sides and the bottom are SHARP and I managed to cut myself just removing the label that came on it. The bottom is ridiculously sharp and thin and its almost impossible to handle it without hurting your self. The pan does work as intended but its so thinly constructed that it bends and deforms with regular use. Not impressed.

Advertised as heavy duty and extra strong, it is anything but that. This tart pan (PRI Delights Non-Stick Tart Pan with Removable Bottom - Heavy-Duty Carbon Steel Quiche Pan for Baking Tarts, Pies, and Quiches - Heat Resistant & Dishwasher Safe) was a waste of money. It arrived in a flimsy bag with no real protection so this tart pan is bent, therefore it is not heavy duty or strong, I can easily flex it and it will go out of shape. Upon removing it from the clear cheapo bag, it is really sharp, not even packaged in a cardboard box to protect it from getting deformed during transit. The metal is thin like sheet metal thin and has a lot of flex to it. The edges are really sharp, I can't believe anyone would sell something like this, it's unsafe to use, let alone try to wash it. Since it was slightly bent, it doesn't sit flat and the removable bottom is really thin and sharp as you can see in the pics I'm including. This is the worst bakeware I have ever gotten, this thing is going straight into the trash.

I was jazzed to have an opportunity tp purchase a tart pan - somehowin all these years I've never owned one! Taht said, this is a pretty flimsypiece of bakeware - it's labeled "Extra Strong", but truth is it's far fromstrong. It comes wrapped only in cellophane - no box - and then theyshipped it in an envelope - no box. So what I received, while brand newwas already warped and dented. This truly is not worth the $12.99 they'recharging - perhaps $7.99? Trying to store it with my other bakeware Ihave a feeling it's not going to hold up long.

I ordered this Non-Stick Tart Pan with Removable Bottom – Heavy-Duty Carbon Steel Quiche Pan for Baking Tarts, Pies, and Quiches – Heat Resistant & Dishwasher Safe heavy duty tart pan made from carbon steel because I’ve been wanting to get a tart pan with a removable bottom. The separate bottom makes serving easier; you push up the bottom piece from underneath, and the entire tart lifts up from the pan. You can then serve the tart from atop the bottom piece. The sales page says this tart pan is made from heavy duty carbon steel and has a non stick surface. When I received the pan, I was amazed and a little confused by how very lightweight the pan was. This was advertised as heavy duty, but the tart pan is quite lightweight and fairly wiggly. The bottom piece of the pan is very flexible; it feels like you could bend it.I did a little research on carbon steel; it is supposed to be lighter than wrought iron, but it’s still fairly sturdy. I’m worried that the flexible bottom piece could fold or buckle when I’m lifting a tart from the pan. I’ve never used a carbon steel tart pan before, but the “heavy duty” description made me expect a sturdy, strong metal pan; this has flex and bend.I tested this by making an apple pie; this is a heavier tart because of the weight of the fruit. The sales page says this pan has a no stick surface, but I didn’t notice any difference between this pan and my old one, which doesn’t have a nonstick surface. The crust wasn’t stuck into the pan, but it also didn’t slide out easily, even with pushing the bottom piece up.I think I may season this tart pan, for those not familiar with seasoning, it involves applying very thin layers of oil to the pan and heating it; you’re building up thin layers to create a non stick surface. The pan I received measures about 8 1/2” from side to side; the bottom round is about 7 3/4” wide.In the end, I gave this four stars. I did remove one star for the size difference, the flex in the bottom piece, and the no stick surface; if I’m going to need to season this myself, what kind of no stick surface is on this pan? I really like some things about the design of the pan; even though it felt flimsy and I was worried it would buckle, I quite like the removable bottom piece; pushing the entire tart up and out of the pan makes for easier and more attractive serving.I also really like the fluted edges of the pan; an easy way to make decorative pastry with your crusts. I wish the sales page had included a bit more information; what kind of non stick surface is on the pan? What is the best way to remove a tart from the pan? I like the design of the pan quite a bit; if it had been a bit heavier and sturdier, this could have been a five star review from me.I had planned to use this to make fresh fruit tarts and quiche; both are fairly heavy. This may be better for lighter tart fillings, maybe whipped cream based.
