This is a really convenient piece to have on your soldering work bench. Give the wheel a few twists and you'll have plenty of solder slack to work with on your projects. I have a 1 lb spool of Kester that fits perfectly. I've done 3 projects with it so far and I'm quite happy with it.

This soldering stand is very convenient you can take it wherever you need to solder something and unroll your solder as needed It is heavy enough that you don't need to mount it but you can if you want!

I like this feeder. It is nicely made and rolls well, nice smooth bearing, and love the solder guide.I'd give it a 5 star but for one thing; one of my older rolls (Ersin) will not fit. Granted, it's pretty old and nearly 3 inches but it still doesn't fit so I don't feel right about a 5 star.If they made the shaft just a bit longer ... Now, I could 3D print a new knob with a longer thread, but it's not my job to reengineer it, eh?

While the stand itself and the center bolt are steel, everything else securing it together is plastic.On my particular unit, the steel center bolt has come loose on the opposite end of the plastic nut and I can't remove my spool now.This holder might be good for wider spools, but due to the plastic construction, it doesn't appear to be very good for narrow spools.Unfortunately, if I want my spool back out, I will need to destroy the unit.

I have been needing one of these for a long time.And this one serves it's purpose . I would have liked tohave a resistance adjustment on the spool holder, inorder to reduce the free wheeling of the spool.

Great for holding solder in right position while you move iron and piece towards it. Unrolls easily. Solder can be bent after guide hole to keep it from pushing back, making it a lot steadier when soldering. 1 lb. roll of Kester solder fit well (with spacers removed since roll is pretty wide). Spins freely. Stand is weighted so it is stable and doesn't wobble. Guide rod can be moved to other side to fit tool arrangement or left/right-handed use.
