These torsion springs are perfect for installing recessed trims and LED Downlights into 5-inch and 6-inch recessed housings. The Torsion springs (also called Chicken Legs or V-Springs) are bent together and inserted into housing and clipped onto speaclized hooks within the inside of the housing to secure the LED downlight, while providing upwards pressure to keep the downlight or trim against the ceiling/housing. If your housing does not have a place to hook the springs onto, you can utilize universal mounting clips, which slip onto the edge of the housing and provide a mounting mechansim for installing trims and downlights with torsion springs. At NICOR, we’re always looking for ways to make your light better. We continue to innovate, challenge our thinking and improve our processes. We look to earn your business by delivering progressive lighting solutions designed to balance value with the highest design performance possible. We’re determined to bring you reliable products that provide real solutions. I needed a longer spring clip than what came with the bathroom exhaust fan and this worked perfect.

My choice was "buy and install another fixture" or get these and try to replace the original rusted springs. Needless to say, the choice was easy.Tore out the original rusted and broken pieces, shimmies, struggled, and cursed these into place, and saved $50 in replacement cost and new light fixtures would have been way more difficult to install.Yay for finding the right item at the right time and a fair price.

I have 2 square recessed lights in the garage overhang that were installed about 60 years ago. At least a decade ago, one of the springs keeping the cover in place quit and I couldn't find a replacement. I used wire to keep it in place but I could never get it fully flush. On a whim, I searched amazon and was shocked to discover the exact spring I needed. The broken spring was held in place with a rivet and was difficult to remove. Three drill bits later I used a titanium bit and was able to get the rivet out. Using a screw and a washer, I was able to attach the new spring and now the cover fits perfectly.

The spring broke for one of my recessed cans in the kitchen and I ordered this really Inexpensive replacement set. It was easy to install in place of the broken one and the light is now back snug in the ceiling!

It was very hard to find this product anywhere, even Home Depot. I'm glad it was on Amazon for cheap. Used it to replace the broken ones for my shower fan cover. The only issue is that these are so far stretched apart (180 degrees) versus the ones that came with my fan (which are like, maybe, 60 degrees apart?) that it was so hard to do the necessary install. Should have required only one hand, but I needed two for this spring. Wish it was spaced closer together.
