The metal is so soft, the master link retainer got dented on install. Also it’s the thinnest retainer I’ve ever seen. It would blow my mind if this chain doesn’t brake in 3 months.

I bought this Niche X-ring 525 Chain with high hopes - and it looks good + solidly built. BBut the real issue bedeviling this install is: the "Clip Style Master Link" is of poor quality on the clip design - you only get 1 shot to slide it on correctly & if a FAIL - the clip pin is SO bent as to render it unusable for a 2nd try !I wouldn't consider this a problem EXCEPT that nowhere on Amazon do they list more Niche brand Master Links, in either Clip OR Rivet style. So I'm stuck having to guess whether / IF a different brand Master Link MAY fit - which is a potentially dangerous gamble as any close but not quite right fit could cause an on road breakdown. It's a serious oversight to not offer spare Master Links & doubly so to not offer a Rivet Type option for those who tend to run a chain full life (vs changing it out like dirt bikers do, hence the removable clip idea)I'm going to post this "kinda sorta" review - this chain LOOKS beefy & solid for $40 is a serious value BUT becomes a DO NOT BUY if this company can't offer me a Rivet link option - I've since done research & with the proper quality chain tool like a motion pro one, proper Rivet Link install isn't hard.I did order RK brand Master Rivet Link in 525 x-ring size & will look CLOSELY to see if it can be properly + safely installed on this Niche Chain.I will DEFINITELY update this review to confirm / deny this fact.A chain flying off at Highway speeds is a serious danger and no joke !I probably should have ordered an RK or EK brand Japanese Chain or paid full tilt for DID, which are bulletproof but around $140.Stay tuned I am planning a Long Distance Tour in 2 weeks this delay is not convenient.

I have these chains on 4 bikes and have had no problems. The non o-ring is a bit thinner and in my case doesn't rub on tire.

Amazing chain great for the price. This is my second chain form them. I ride all year round my bike is my only mode of transportation and with proper chain maintenance I would recommend these to everyone.

Fitted nicely - 116 with no mods - 16T front converted but I don't think the stock 17 would make any difference. Heavy and impressive on first look. The clip is not easy though, because the X-rings push on the plate and hide the grooves for the pin to slide into. I used a zip-tie in the middle over the clip to compress and this worked.I fitted with minimum chain slack as it'll stretch - once I have a few miles I will report back because if this chain works, I'll put one on every 2 years happily rather than spending 4X on a brand every 4.

I've ordered multiple things for my FZ09 same day 13-May '21, but your chain was the 1st to arrive today. Good job!The chain looks good. I yet need to install it. If I won't update this review it will mean everything is fine and remains 5-stars.The only thing I wish you would let customer choose the connecting link type: Rivet type Connecting Link or Clip Type. I prefer the rivet type, but there is no point to bitch about it as I've ordered it separately anyways. The chain price is quite competitive - thanks! I hope the quality is there too given the very positive average rating score here at Amazon. To be updated in the future.= = = UPDATED on Sept-27 2021 = = =Yesterday I did chain slack adjustment on my FZ-09 '2017. Well, the O-rings start to break and fall out... SEE THE ATTACHED PICTURES. So far I've done ***less than 2000 miles*** on this chain. In addition to this the chain links start to develop bending resistance in some areas.Moral of the story: you get what you paid for. This chain is cheap because it is of bad quality. You may use it on a racetrack bike, do 2000-3000 miles then throw it away. But I do not suggest you to install this chain on a touring motorcycle or if you expect it to serve 15..20K miles like quality chains do.On a side note, I do not understand how people rate this product to be 4.5 stars if it can not last even 3000 miles.

This chain looks good and works well, except that right now I've put a little over 5,000 miles on it and I see some O-rings falling off when I clean it.I use kerosene and a toothbrush approximately every 500 miles or when the chain is visibly dirty. I was thinking maybe this may be too aggressive of an approach, but it seems like all chain manufacturers and youtubers and internet sources recommend Kerosene. I lube it with a brand name motorcycle O-ring chain lube.Friend of mine cleans his chain with WD-40 and a rag, lubes it with the same lube as I do, does the maintenance far less often, and his chains last 25,000 miles. Maybe I should take a more relaxed approach...So far I've seen three or four O-rings fall off. They are split so they just come off. That's not immediately an issue (it's now a conventional, non-o-ring chain...) but I think eventually that will lead to premature wear since that roller can now slide along the pins laterally and goodness knows how much lube is in there.Once this chain is "fully" clapped out, I'll try a name-brand chain and see if the same results occur - if so, it's the kerosene.

I installed this today on my Suzuki SV650. Package arrived fine, and the chain was lubricated well from the factory. Comes with a clip style master link and a small bottle of lubricant, I suspect it is just a gear oil, which works fine for chains. You can use your preferred chain lube if you'd like.Installation went as expected and the master link fit well. Before installation I checked for play or any slop in the links and everything looked great. I went on a 50 mile ride tonight and the chain runs well. It's quiet and smooth, as you'd expect from a new chain. It seemed to stretch slightly, but just about any new chain will stretch some the first few hundred miles especially, so you should keep an eye on it anyways. Also MAKE SURE the clip master link is installed correctly, with the opening facing the correct direction. I would quickly check it after the first ride to make sure it is seated properly. The advantage of the clip style is easy installation, but there is a remote chance of it coming loose. If installed correctly this shouldn't be an issue. For some extra insurance, some people will put a dab of silicone or sealant on the clip to help hold it in place. I've even seen others safety tie the clip with thin wire, neither is probably necessary but for some it is worth the peace of mind.Overall I'm impressed with the chain, and happy I tried this inexpensive chain instead of spending 2 or 3 times as much on a "name brand" chain. I'll keep riding and will update this review if anything changes!
