TIME-SERTis a solid bushing insert. This facilitates easy installation and allows for full torque to be applied to repaired threads, ensuring a strong, permanent repair. TIME-SERTis thin walled due to synchronized internal / external threads. Small outer diameter allows for installation in areas where clearance is critical. TIME-SERTis self-positioning. The flange on the top of the insert will insure that the insert cannot wind down into the newly repaired hole. TIME-SERTis self locking. On installation the bottom internal threads of the insert expand to lock the insert in place.

The product quality is good however I struggled with the tap piece as it didn’t stay perfectly seated the whole time. Turns out I should have not ordered this and could have saved money by just buying a new lower pan.

Like previous users said, make sure you drill it straight and thread it straight which they provide. I used the tap guide for both drilling and tapping, worked great. It's meant for the tap but it provided a guide to drill strait by holding it flush against my oil pan. I used hand tools, go slow and you won't mess up. It was a bit tough to push and turn the drill and tap by hand but I was on my back under the car when I did it. No more leaks on oil pan plug. Definitely recommended

It was very hard to find the right kit for my 300X Honda 4 wheeler. But I contacted time sent people and were pleasantly surprised that they fixed that problem immediately and was an American speaking person. They are the best.

I was a little hesitant to buy this because it's a little on the pricey side, but it's definitely worth it. The tools feel very nice and they are razor sharp. I was scared to tackle this project but it was way easier than I thought. As long as you take your time and don't force anything too hard then you'll be fine. You have to absolutely make sure you start the tools straight or else they WILL cut crooked because they're so sharp. You also get a few extra inserts in case you mess one up or you need one for another vehicle. I also used some high temperature red locktight on the insert even though it's not required. I'm glad I only had to spend $115 on this product and about an hour of my time instead of buying a whole new oil pan!

This is a very well engineered kit, including all the specialty tools and steel inserts to repair up to 5 stripped oil drain plugs, all of the same thread pitch. Fortunately (unfortunately?), I only had two stripped plugs in the oil pan of a Bobcat tractor. The instructions were very clear, and the sharp drill bit, reamer, and tap made quick work of the job. The net result was that I wound up with non-leaking steel thread inserts in the aluminum oil pan of the tractor. Installation of both inserts took about an hour, and the tractor was back in business! Highly recommended.
