plugs right in but useless, does not put power across all connection prongs, going to tear it apart and try to fix it

This review is for the L5-30P/L14-30R generator adapter which allows you to connect a 120 volt generator to a standard 30 amp 120/240 volt outlet. I want power on both legs of my panel and this adapter does that. When the generator is wired like this 240 volt devices don’t work but all the 120 volt devices work no matter what circuit they are on.
