I wanted a cage that is as less bulky as possible and that are arca swiss compatible and also fit on my Dji RS3 pro without need of extra baseplate. This one fits perfect for this. I also mounted a slim Ulanzi basplate on the side for quick portrait mount on tripods so no need for L-plate anymore

Ich habe mir den Half Cage für eine Panasonic LUMIX S5iix gekauft. Da ich noch nie überhaupt etwas rechts an einem Cage angeschlossen habe und es bevorzuge, den Griff normal greifen zu können (ohne dass dieser entsprechend verbreitert wird), habe ich mich für einen Half Cage entschieden. Man spart natürlich auch etwas Gewicht.Die Funktionalität ist ansonsten für mich identisch. Ich kann seitlich über die NATO-Schiene (oder wahlweise auch die Gewindelöcher) einen Handgriff montieren und ebenso einen Top Handle auf der Oberseite. Dazwischen gibt es einen Kaltschuh-Mount, wo man beispielsweise eine Mikrofon-Funkstrecke unterbringen kann und an der Unterseite ist durch die Arca Basis sichergestellt, dass ich die Kamera auch direkt mit meinem RS 4 Pro (mittels einer Adapterplatte von SmallRig) verbinden oder auf ein entsprechendes Stativ montieren kann.Auch mit einer entsprechenden Belastung und Haltung über einen Top-Handle, gibt der Cage nicht nach und wirkt entsprechend robust. Mit der HDMI Kabelklemme und entsprechenden Ösen für einen Gurt sowie der sicheren Montage über zwei Punkte, lässt der Cage für mich keine Wünsche offen und erfüllt meine Bedürfnisse vollstens.Den Neewer Half Cage für die Panasonic Lumix S5iix würde ich jederzeit wieder kaufen und gegenüber teureren Alternativen weiterempfehlen.

Frame was missing the screw and lock for the right side of the cage and box was opened. Be sure to check for all the parts otherwise you will damage your camera. There is no guarantee you will get a new item.

Nice build quality and perfect fitment. Works well thus far. Only knock is it could maybe be a lighter material and the cable organizer is kinda useless.

If you want a half cage for your s5ii, this is the best option. If you want a full cage, this is still better than some of the full cages offered.I bought this cage first, thinking I'd upgrade later. My main reason to upgrade was mounting the camera vertically on the handle side, something a half cage simply cannot do.What I found when upgrading to the SmallRig Black Mamba cage, was that I had entirely taken the Neewer half cage for granted.Don't get me wrong, there is a bit of flex from the top handle mounting point on this cage, however, there is about the same or even more from the SmallRig full cage. Not only that, but this cage includes top and side nato rails, which cannot be said for some of the other offerings.The main conclusion here for me is that I'm sorry I doubted you Neewer. I'm sorry i let SmallRig's fancy branding, and gunmetal finish distract me from what I already had. A sleek, well designed, and affordable half cage, from a brand that quietly has been putting out better and better products since i purchased my first (crappy) Neewer light nearly 10 years ago.

Je suis très satisfait de ce produit, la cage est très bien faite, solide et légère. La clé pour visser/dévisser est maintenue par un aimant vraiment puissant et je trouve que c'est un vrai plus ! J'aime bien le placement des 2 hot-shues qui permettent facilement d'intégrer une lumière et un SSD par exemple à côté du micro sur la griffe de l'appareil. Je rachèterai cette cage si c'était à refaire.

Reviewed this on YouTube too and I must say again how much I love it. Holds a monitor, mic, light and locks in the HDMI cable.Do note though that the screen cannot articulate fully if you use the locked HDMI feature.Other than that, it's pretty perfect for static shoots. I wouldn't use this for on the go filming though.

Finding a half-cage for this camera is not easy. Tilta dropped the ball and delivered a cage that looks like it wasn't finished when it was manufactured (oops, we forgot the nato rails). Smallrig's offering isn't a half rig. The Mamaba is close, but no top nato rail and the bottom doesn't extend for the pinkie grip. The Falcam offering requires you to switch to proprietary mounts... Plus so many now come in funky colors and finishes (picky, right). The Neewer has nato rails. Its a true half cage. It has the built-in Arca plate, it's black, it has the right mounts. I was a bit worried as it doesn't have front mounting holes (minor nit-pick), and it looks less than sturdy. It is less than sturdy, but it is sturdy enough and checks more boxes than any other half-cage for the S5iix with no major drawbacks. I can still pick up an attached Ikan video head and tripod by a top handle. In the most extreme cases, the cage flexes- mostly you may notice a slight twist. BUT it is a half-cage leaving the working end completely free. AND- I have never had a perfectly slid rig- especially a half cage. SO- this is a BIG WIN. of, plus it is super affordable- but I would pay more for a bit extra material or robustness. No rig is perfect, but this is so close- and bested by no other rig available yet, that it gets a full 5 stars! Oh- the all nato construction means I can derig this camera in about 7 seconds!

Well thought out Cage for the Panasonic S5ii.Was looking around for a cage for my new camera and the Neewer cage checked all the boxes. While this cage didn't come with a handle or wrist strap like the other brand what it had was 2 hotshoe mounting locations so I will be able to fit a wireless mic rx along with a light without having to get any extra attachments. The cage is well constructed. No sharp edges. Has rounded corners. Has rubber padding where the camera sits on and also on top so the camera body is less likely to get scratched from installing/removing. All of the camera ports can easily be accessed without having to remove the camera. Battery can easily be swapped out, quick access to sd card slots, mic, and hdmi port. Dials and buttons are not blocked and easily accessed too.I feel much better having this cage installed to protect my new camera from day to day use, not to mention the flexibility to add handles and other things that I might have to use in the future. Oh yeah the bottom of the cage is already a plate so if you have the mount on the tripod or gimbal the cage will just slip into place. Also the tool that is included to remove the 1/4 screw and small hex bolts sits under the cage and is held in place by multiple strong magnets.
