My wife was told to get this to use after a corneal procedure. It was a bit irritating but overall the results were good.

My late husband was told by his eye doctor to use this ointment. It was cheaper on amazon and he could get a 3 pack. Good product.

Muro 128 is a good product. It is keeping a problem I have with my eyes from getting worst.

I have been prone to corneal edemas for a number of years. Some are more painful than others, and the last one was absolutely awful. I couldn't even open my eyes, they were watering so badly and so sensitive to light (the unaffected one must have been acting in sympathy to the other one....) I ended up having to wear a corneal bandage for a year (changed regularly of course). My opthamologist recommended this product, used nightly before bed, to help prevent future occurrences. It's been almost a year now, and I have not had an occurrence. It used to be easy to find in stores (Walmart, Walgreens, etc.) but lately I have had nothing but trouble finding it. Finding it on Amazon for a reasonable price was a Godsend. I would highly recommend this product. (Not to be confused with the opthalmic solution, which is not the same thing and was not recommended for prevention by my doc at least..)

********* Update 5/26/17 ***********I'm still using the Muro 128 each and every night. Had my last abrasion in Dec. 2016 after flying several times within a short time. It wasn't the worse abrasion but bad enough that my cornea was scraped and had an artificial membrane applied. Didn't hurt, just uncomfortable for a good week. This ointment is still the absolute best to use to help with the dry eyes. On my follow up with my doctor to the above treatment, he informed me of a new procedure for dry eyes. LipiFlow. He highly recommend I have this done. Insurance doesn't cover it, but I paid out of pocket for it. It's been a month today since I've had the procedure and I can tell my eyes aren't as dry, especially when I wake up, which is when I normally have issues. I still have to use restasis daily and Muro 128 at bedtime. Twice a day I use moist heat eye compress for 5 minutes and I can feel the oil glands in my eyes pushing out oil. I highly recommend getting this procedure done if you meet the criteria. Look it up online and you can find information about it and even videos of what's done. I'll probably be using Muro 128 for the rest of my life, but with LipiFlow and using the moist heat eye compress daily, if it keeps the abrasions from happening, then I'm happy.*****UPDATE ON SELLER ONLY******* 1/11/16My review of the product listed below still stands. This is the best eye ointment to use to help stop getting abrasions. The reason for this update is I wanted to warn others about one of the sellers. I just ordered 5 boxes of this from GuardaTek and fullfilled by Amazon. One of the boxes has a CVS security sticker on it that states "This item is intended for sale at CVS Pharmacy, if found at other outlets, call xxxxxx. that box was opened. Another box has a bright yellow clearance sticker on it (not sure which retailer) that states it's 75% off, now pay $10.44. They are selling these for $33.85, which is the going price. But I don't appreciate paying that much and then receiving the item and seeing I paid 250% more for the item. I contacted Amazon and they have compensated me for these issues, but that doesn't make it right that this seller can do this. There's another seller that is only .02 more per box, that's who I have re-ordered from.Several years ago i had two abrasions on the same eye within a few months. I was also waking up in the middle of night with very dry eyes. The opthamologist suggested I use Genteal PM ointment, which I used up for over 2 years but was still waking up in the middle of the night with dry eyes and would have to put more ointment in. Last Dec. I went to a new opthamologist and told him what I was experiencing and he recommended I try Muro 128 5% ointment. I always thought the Genteal PM ointment was great, but the Muro 128 5% is a far superior product. I don't have to use as much each night and I don't wake up with dry eyes in the middle of the night. But, my eyes do have some of the ointment residue around them each morning, which I use a tissue to wipe off. This product isn't as readily available as Genteal, and when you do find it, it's quite expensive in the local pharmacy. Luckily, it's available here on Amazon in a twin pack for half the price. If you have a problem with night time dry eyes and/or eye abrasions, then you should try Muro 128 5% ointment.******UPDATE********* Jan. 2013I wanted to give an updated review on this product to show how important it had become to use this to help with dry eyes. I live overseas most of the year but during the summer (2012) I was back in California and had brought some of my huge stash of Muro 128 with me. But, I ran out and since I hadn't experienced dry eyes in quite a while, I didn't order any more and just used Genteal at night. Well, it didn't take long before I woke one morning with another abrasion. This was the 3rd one on the same eye! One of the first things the doctor asked me was, "Are you using the Muro 128 at night?" I learned my lesson the hard way. For me personally, this works very well in keep my eyes lubricated during the night and I will not be without this ointment every again. I just wished it was available with prime shipping.
