i recieved this item for my 08 raod king and was excited to install. But no such luck, the bolts we not long enogh to thread into the bike. i tried thread in the bolts with out the sissy bar and all seames fine, but as soon as the bars and sapce was installed it would not thread. not long enough to get started. i tohught about getting longer bolts but i am not sure if i would trust this item on my bike supporting my fender bunny, i believe it would have looked good but cant say for sure.

It works for its purpose. The fit is accurate and is as described. Install pretty easy and looks good. I think it shows to be not quite as durable as a genuine, brand name would be, but I guess that's to be expected.

This backrest is one beautiful work of art for a motorcycle, it's been perfectly fabricated, the surface is smooth, the finish is very well applied, the pad is small but compliments the whole part, the pipe used is a size that fills the missing peace on a motorcycle which is very hard to find one that looks as good as this piece, the mounting brackets are very nice as well, it is a very well put together kit, If used on a blacked out bike this will fit right at home.

If your harley is stock or even modified, I would not trust this backrest to hold your riding partner under hard acceleration.One might think well, the 4pt docking is only held on by screws, except they arent supported by those screws they are supported by the welded stud on that dock, and the bolts holding the dock to the motorcycle are much larger in size.even older dyna backrests that use screws, are slotted together by pipe and tube, and the screws are there to keep the two pcs from seperating, no actual force is being applied to them.Dredoggmoto didnt make this backrest this way because its better, they made it this way because its more compact for shipping.I wouldnt trust my riding partners safety to this backrest, and neither should you.

I had a standard looking backrest/sissy bar on the Road King and while it does the job I was never really happy with the standard everyday look. This backrest looks great. Install was easy of course as it just locks on. I'm super happy with the look and the build quality. Looks a lot like the much more expensive name brands and at the end of the day, nobody cares how much you paid. I know I don't. This is a great piece if you're needing a backrest and want something that isn't like all the others.
