We went with the Miku Pro and paid the hefty price of $400. Our reason to justify to pay this price was because at the time of purchase, it came with great features that requires no subscription service. Our options were either buy a cheap monitor and pay for subscription or pay a premium price and don't have to deal with a subscription. We went with Miku and we now feel scammed.About a month ago, Miku was bought out by Innovative Health Monitoring, LLC (IHM). Now that IHM is running the company, Miku monitors now require a subscription for most of the features that were free.So what features do you get out of the box after paying $400 pre-tax without signing up for the subscription? You only get local video and audio when connected to the same wifi. That's it.The core essential features that Miku had to justify the premium price of its monitor are now only available with a monthly subscription. You want remote video and audio access, live breathing tracking without wearables, two-way talk, sleep analytics, notifications and alerts, sounds and lullabies? Well, now you have to pay for it as a subscription when it was all free! You can't justify a $400 price tag for a monitor that only gives you local video and audio for free. With a subscription, you're looking to be paying nearly $1,000 for the monitor over the years. Is it worth it, especially for a monitor with constant software issues?Don't waste your hard earned money on this greedy company. There are many other well made monitors out there that are way affordable with the essential features that you need in a monitor.

They’ve been bought out by another firm and are now charging huge monthly fees for what is basically an overpriced webcam. It was fine to pay top dollar a year ago like we did for the hardware when the online services were free, but they’ve retroactively applied service fees to top tier hardware paying customers. As it is the device should be free and you just pay the subscription costs.

It is great BUT. It features are breathing monitoring, however sometimes nothing is in the crib and it monitors breathing...interesting. Then the alarm will go off that baby isn't breathing. You have a panic attack (lovely while postpartum and you are in a state as it is) scramble to the crib and baby is fine. Alarm goes off all through the day, no reason. So you turn off alarm in app...and what's the point then?Picture is clear as a bell, night vision is fantastic, and sound clear. Its sleek and has no fuzzy noise when listening. The sound feature for white noise is good but only ONE white noise the rest are songs. So thats a bummer.Hope that help

EDITED 1/3/22: the developers at Miku have finally added the ability to select access levels/restrictions for shared users. Changing from 1 to 2 stars for that.*****************ORIGINAL REVIEW: The takeaway after five months of use: it’s not great for the money ($499 as of 6/11/22 if you purchase the Miku Pro and optional stand), and now I’m looking for a different product.Pros: the camera resolution during light & dark conditions is great, and you can zoom in/out. The entire kit is well built. The app looks sleek at first glance with lots of bells and whistles.Cons:- The main reason we shelled out the big bucks is because of the ability to track whether baby is breathing/moving. However, we’ve experienced lots of false alarms related to movement/breathing to the point where I’ve turned off the alarm option.- The analytic output is inaccurate/impractical. The device often fails to record/note all of baby’s wakes and going back to sleep, including final morning wake up. Therefore, the analysis of how baby slept the previous night is inaccurate and meaningless.- You need to have STELLAR wifi (and put the device on 5ghz) to view your child without disruption/delay; otherwise, your app will constantly close out or advise you to “please wait” to view the feed before often giving you an “offline” message.- The kicker (PLEASE READ!!!): you can’t limit any user’s access to the camera feed in any way. Per the American Academy of Pediatrics’ current recommendations, baby is sleeping in our bedroom (in her own crib) for 6-12 months. So, the camera is usually in our bedroom. When we have someone else (grandma, aunt, other babysitter) watching baby in the nursery, ideally we’d want to move the camera to the nursery room and add the individual as a user to the app so he/she doesn’t need to constantly check on baby while napping or sit in the room. Then, theoretically, we’d move the camera back to our bedroom for the evening/night. However, you cannot restrict user access in any way. This means that every user can access the camera feed at ANY TIME. I repeat: whether intentional or accidental, any user can listen to and view your home’s camera feed from anywhere. I don’t think you need much imagination to see how problematic and intrusive that is.I asked customer care if they were going to implement user restriction options and got the very vague response of “we’re working on it but can’t provide any type of timeframe,” even after probing further. Note that someone asked this very question on Amazon THREE YEARS AGO and got the same non-commital “we hope to offer this feature!” response. This is insane for a $400 (as of 6/11/22) kit and a $99 optional stand that we purchased. $499 for this setup. We’re going to look into a non-wifi baby monitor that lets you see/hear/2-way audio with baby, pan/tilt/zoom, etc.; top of the line for that maxes out at a comparably affordable $199, and there are many other products that go for much less!

I got this monitor upon the advice of a friend and I'm very glad I did. No wonder it's one of the top rated...It can be difficult to decide which product is best and which features are most important when shopping; luckily this monitor sports all of the top specs and then some.I received the product a week ahead of schedule and had it up and running in no time. Pairing with the app was seamless. I saw the odd review mentioning connectivity issues but didn't experience any myself (I connected via 5GHz).The HD feed is clear and the night vision works better than our previous model by far. The field of view is also incredibly wide and will capture most/all of a small bedroom if mounted high as instructed. Absolutely everything to mount it is included. Some of the features (white noise, lullabies, etc.) may seem unnecessary based on personal need but they don't hurt to have. The 2-way voice is super clear if you want to soothe a baby or provide an answer to an older child calling out. There's no built in night light like some cameras have but that's an easy solve and not a problem for most. The big feature Miku has over its competitors is the ability to track/monitor respiration without a wearable. So far this seems to work decently well and I'll update my review after having a chance to use it for some time.Overall I'm very impressed with the sheer amount of features and the quality of both the device and supporting app. For anyone looking for a smart option for a smart baby monitor this is a great choice.

5/5 Monitor!MOUNTING: If you plan on mounting this camera to the wall - all required hardware is included in the box (a pre-marked tape measurer, a level (built into the wall mount base), & a cable track (photo attached), screws & wall anchor. The instructions on how to mount (height, position to the crib, etc.) are very clear and doesn't require any power tools.CAMERA SETUP: The software side of things is simple. Just follow the instructions in the box and you'll be connected in no time. Start with a bluetooth connection to communicate with the camera. Once connected via bluetooth, then it'll ask you for your wifi name/password so it can connect. Following that, you'll likely need to do a firmware update which takes a little bit of time. Overall, a very simple/easy process.FEATURES/NOTES:NO SUBSCRIPTION:First and foremost, one of the biggest perks of the this monitor is that there is no subscription required to make use of all of the functions it has to offer. This can't be said for just about any device (baby monitor or not) out there today. Being able to buy something & not have to continue paying to use it is a HUGE plus.CAMERA QUALITY (See screenshots):As the description of the product says and as is pretty standard with other monitors, this camera offers 1080p resolution + night vision. As far as how it looks on the app goes/the quality - I'll let the screenshots I've posted do the talking. Personally, I think the quality is perfect given what it's being used for (you don't need 4k resolution on a baby monitor, imo).FEATURES:- Live Breathing/Vital Tracking: Although we haven't made use of this, for the parents that want a camera/monitor with all of the bells & whistle of other premium brands (and no additional hardware/wearable tech that the baby has to wear in order for this function to work, as other brands require). I did post a couple of screenshots with this feature enabled for those curious. With this feature turned on, the Miku Pro can detect with the baby is not in the crib, it can detect/alert when there's no movement (at times when it expects there to be movement) & when there is movement.-Music/Sound Machine Function: There's a HUGE list of songs (and sounds) that can be turned on (with a timer). Volume control is also available in the app.-Alarms: If you have vital tracking on, this function makes use of the built in speakers to sound an alarm if any vital signs aren't quite right.-Standby Mode (Screenshot attached): If you're not using the camera (and don't want to completely unplug it) - this function turns the camera 'off' and disables all monitoring/notifications.AUDIO MONITOR (TOP FEATURE, IMO):Similar to a basic audio monitor, the app gives you the options for something called "background monitoring". This feature will send you push notifications to your phone if it detects audio in the room (i.e. if the baby is crying). You can also opt to have the audio continue playing on your phone even if the app is closed (similar to if you play on a song on your music app of choice and then browse other apps or set your phone to the side). The reason I like this feature so much is that you don't have to worry about having the app open 24/7 to be able to use it like an old-fashion audio only monitor.TWO-WAY AUDIO:This camera also allows you to talk to your baby via the app. There's a 'speak' button in the app that will play whatever you say through the built-in camera speakers to the baby.MISC NOTES:- CONNECTIVITY: Really like that you can access this camera via the internet/don't have to be connected to the same network/wifi to be able to access it. I travel for work & work odd hours, so being able to check in on our little one while I'm away is lovely.-SETTING CUSTOMIZATION (Screenshot Attached): For the sound, movement, sleep tracking, etc.. You can custom tailor the sensitivity of how often/when these are triggered and send you notifications.-ACCOUNT SHARE: This feature will let you 'invite' someone (your spouse, a family member, etc.) to be able to have access to the camera/monitor. The thing I liked most about this is that whoever has the account that setup the camera can control how much access the person it's being shared with has. So if it's your spouse, you can give them full access. Whereas if it's a grandparent or family friend - you can set it so that they can have 'view only' access (i.e. they can't use the microphone or see motion tracking info, etc...)FINAL VERDICT:Overall, we are VERY pleased with this camera and all that it has to offer (esp since no subscription is required!!!!). Highly Recommended!

Too expensive for the app not to work, doesn't give me a piece of mind at night. It worked in the beginning and now I'm on day 8 of using the Miku and already having problems. When it works it's great. Night vision is great and picture quality is good too. I wouldn't waste your money on this monitor. It freezes a lot, takes a bit to load, the screen goes black and doesn't work and recently went green. I had to close the app too many times and even then it doesn't work. The sound also went choppy.
